Sharknado makes for a great movie… but not a great science lesson 🌪️🦈

While sharks are incredible swimmers, they’re much too heavy to be scooped up and carried long distances by a tornado. Most tornadoes form over land, and even waterspouts that form over water aren’t likely to launch full-sized sharks into the sky.

So, while it’s fun to imagine sharks raining from the clouds, we’ll leave Sharknado in Hollywood where it belongs 🎬

You know that feeling when you’re told magic isn’t real anymore?

Then you walk into Blue Zoo and realize it never left. ✨🐠

It’s in the excitement of little feet running to the tanks, the wonder of seeing incredible animals up close, and the moments that make you forget the outside world for a while. 💙

Maybe magic isn’t castles and fairy tales.
Maybe it’s making memories, discovering something new, and seeing the world through curious eyes. 🌊✨

Because sometimes all it takes is a trip to Blue Zoo to remember that magic still exists.

☀️🐟 Ever wonder what heat does to fish?

As water temperatures rise, fish have to work a little harder. Warm water holds less oxygen, which can make it more difficult for fish to breathe, stay active, and keep up with their daily routines. That’s why maintaining the right water conditions is so important for their health and wellbeing!

✨ Every mermaid dreams of discovering hidden jewels and sparkling treasures beneath the sea… but after meeting so many amazing kids, she realized the greatest treasure isn’t gold at all. 💎💙

The laughter, smiles, and wonder on their faces are worth more than any treasure chest she could ever find. 🧜‍♀️✨

Humidity isn’t just a comfort thing for reptiles, it’s essential for their health. 💧🦎

Proper humidity helps reptiles shed successfully, stay hydrated, and keep their lungs and airways healthy. That’s why you might see our keepers misting enclosures or spraying down some of our animals throughout the day.

A little extra moisture goes a long way in helping these amazing creatures thrive! 💙

Some content ideas start with strategy. Others start with an employee dramatically singing “Splish Splash” to a tortoise in a tub. 🎤💦

We let the day gecko watch a Marvel movie one time, and now he’s convinced he has superpowers. 🦎✨

Every time he ducks behind a leaf, he seems to think he’s turned invisible. Every dramatic leap? Clearly a superhero landing. Every cricket he catches? Another villain defeated. 💥

We’re not saying he’s the newest member of the Avengers… but we’re also not not saying it. 😎
