The Song Project is a forum for artists to share their original songs, listen to other songwriters' songs, and to engage in an ongoing conversation about the art and the craft of songwriting. Anyone who writes songs is welcome. However, this event is not an “open mic.” Please contact Dirk Lind if you'd like to participate ([email protected], facebook.com/dirklindmusic, 509-385-1332 ). What should

I expect if I am going to play? Have some original songs you are willing to share with us – and be prepared to answer some questions about them. Don't worry, this isn't a critiquing session, you won't have to “defend” your songs. The questions will be about how you approach songwriting, your process, perhaps your lyrics. We all learn more about our craft when we share our process with others. As we continue to develop, we may pursue certain themes – we may have a night where we focus on first lines, choruses, hooks, bridges, melody, arrangement... etc.
