Y'all we are T-minus TWO DAYS away from BAZAAR! ⏰ 🎉

This Saturday we'll be taking over Main Ave. and Post St. to bring you unique finds from over 130 local artists + makers 🛍️, live music 🎸, hands-on activities 🫧 and delicious bites 😋. Bring the family, bring your friends-- there'll be something for everyone!

We've partnered with quite a few friends to offer additional perks to coming down, while also showing your love for Terrain! 💙

Meet our next Annex Spotlight artist: Stefanie Hunsaker.

If you haven't checked out the Terrain Annex yet, it's an extension of the gallery featuring rotating works from local artists—all available to take home right off the wall.

Stefanie's mixed media collage piece, Loyal to Myself, is a colorful reminder of something many of us need to hear a little more often: believe in yourself.

Built from scrapbook paper, acrylic paint, and layers of encouraging messages, the piece is rooted in self-love, self-acceptance, and trusting that we're capable of more than we sometimes give ourselves credit for.

Especially for women, Stefanie hopes the work serves as a reminder that if there's something you want to do, or need to do, you can do it.

Meet our next Artist Spotlight 🌟 Inga Laurent.

A poet, writer, law professor, and longtime champion of local creativity, Inga has spent years exploring what it means to speak your truth– whether through poetry, essays, or her work as a columnist.

Before our Flagship event, Terrain, became what it is today, Inga found herself at Terrain 3, discovering literature tucked between installations and seeing firsthand what can happen when a community makes room for imagination.

In this Artist Spotlight, she reflects on finding her voice, writing through uncertainty, and why people-powered creative spaces really matter.

If you've been meaning to apply, this is your sign. Stop overthinking that one image. Stop tweaking that artist statement for the 47th time. Stop waiting until you're "ready."

Every year we get hundreds of applications from artists, performers, filmmakers, musicians, makers, and creative folks doing things we never could have predicted. The work that stands out isn't always the loudest—it's the work that's thoughtfully presented and genuinely yours.

Pick your strongest pieces, make sure your images are clear, and send it in.

We'll take care of the rest 💙

Tomorrow's First Friday, and we've got a good one.

Join us for the opening reception of CATHARSIS, a solo exhibition from artist Duncan Menzies exploring a simple question with surprisingly complicated answers: "What do you cover?"

Through collage, Americana landscapes, photojournalism, and sculptural lamp work, Duncan's work examines how our upbringing, environment, and culture shape the parts of ourselves we choose to show, and the parts we keep hidden.

You'll also get to experience The Bedsheet Chronicles, a short documentary created with local videographer Jack Waade and housed inside an immersive bedsheet canopy installation. Equal parts cozy, nostalgic, and thought-provoking.

Come spend some time with the work, meet the artist, and see where the question takes you.

Next up in our Artist Spotlight series, meet the one and only Travis Laurence Naught! ✨ Known for his vibrant personality and incredible talent, Travis is a true creative powerhouse. He made waves with his poetry book debut in 2012, lighting up stages across Spokane and beyond. Fast forward, and a Texas publisher couldn’t resist his first fiction novel!

But wait, there’s more! Travis is now diving into music, mixing rhythm and melody with his lyrical magic while teaming up with local musicians. And when he’s not crafting words into art, he’s got his hands full with comics—over 400,000 of them! Yep, that’s the perk of running WC Collectibles with his dad.

If you know Travis, you know there’s always a good story waiting to be told. His work is all about curiosity, community, and the joy of creativity. We loved peeking into his world, filled with inspiration and the reminder that what excites us often becomes our greatest work.

Applications for our flagship event close in less than a month! 👀

If you make things, move things, film things, paint things, build things, break the rules a little—we want to see it. Dancers, painters, filmmakers, musicians, installation artists, ceramicists, and creatives we don’t even know how to categorize yet: this is your sign.

A little insider tip: all work is juried by a panel of folks working in Spokane’s creative scene, and we typically receive around 500 applications. So send us your strongest work, use clear images, good lighting, and give yourself the best shot to stand out.

We’re endlessly proud of these brilliant humans for showing up, taking risks, and absolutely knocking it out of the park. Spokane, keep your eyes on these folks… they’re making moves.
