Thank you, Robert Sevilla, for inviting me to the Creative Mindset podcast, broadcast from the downtown Spokane Library by KYRS. We discussed the vibrant arts communities in Spokane, the role of creative practices that draw on ritual and myth, and the lack of visibility for dance in the Spokane arts ecosystem. Additionally, we talked about my newest dance project, Liminal, set to premiere in December of 2026. Liminal will be an interdisciplinary performance ritual that explores the threshold of vulnerability through the lens of the changeling folktale from a neurodivergent perspective.

I am seeking adult dancers in the Spokane area for a new dance project.

The themes of this project will explore threshold spaces, the Celtic and Germanic changeling folktale, and neurodivergence. It aims to investigate the delicate balance between the joy of our authentic selves and the pressure to conform to social rituals for survival and success.

I adopt an interdisciplinary and somatically based approach to dance. This means we will incorporate disciplines such as spoken word, live music, and flow arts while focusing on functional, effortless movement.

Additionally, I employ a praxis approach to my creative process, ensuring that all movement is grounded in theoretical concepts drawn from fields such as cultural anthropology and psychology.

If you have additional questions, please DM me or use my link in bio to access the “Liminal” audition form.

6 movement artists, 1 musician, 3 hours of filming, 83 videos, and 6 hours of editing resulted in a new screendance film for my first time participating in the 50 Hour Slam in Spokane, WA.

Thank you for the inspiration for the film from the participating businesses’ interviews in Kendall Yards:

I’ll be presenting at DEAW’s Spring Conference 2026. My lesson plan session will be “Mythic Movement: An Improvisational Exercise for Embodied Storytelling.” It’s my tried-and-true group improvisation exercise, using archetypal theory and Authentic Movement to create new movement pathways, with a focus on application for grades 5-8. I’m excited to get some continuing education and connect with other Washington-based dance educators.

Hey, we have been in process!

This Wednesday, 4/15/26, collaborators and I will be performing at 12 Minutes Max, put on by Kindling Productions. We will be debuting a new interdisciplinary (poetry, dance, and projection) work and reconfiguring a jazz dance piece. All work is inspired by the Celtic/Germanic folktale myth of the changeling through a neurodivergent lens.

Please come out and support your local arts and dance scene!

I am looking for reliable adult movers with any movement background, interested in a no-rehearsal film project with availability most likely on April 25th in the late afternoon or evening for filming in Spokane. Since all choreography, filming, and editing must take place within 50 hours between April 24th and 26th, this project would be best suited to someone who is comfortable with improvisation or can follow simple movement instructions. The film will use an ambient sound score by local musician Cole Dawson. Non-paid, but the film will be provided with the rights to use.

More About 50 Hr Slam:

The 50 Hour Slam is an annual film competition and festival open to all filmmakers in the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene areas. The festival is designed to encourage emerging and established filmmakers in the region to create a 3-6 minute film within 50 hours, from the writing and development process through the final editing stage. This year, it will take place April 24th-26th at a yet-to-be-disclosed location in Spokane, WA.

Footage from a screendance from (home)stead, filmed on location at Wissahickon Park in Philadelphia, PA, with Cait Kitchens and India Scott.
