This is one of my poor pepper plants! Who would have thought it would be taken out by frost in the beginning of May. Thursday I replaced 5 pepper plants and 4 tomato plantsโ€ฆ only to read that we had another frost warning!!! I did cover them this time.

Over 95% of the underwater world remains unexplored, holding 99% of the planetโ€™s living space and roughly 2.2 million species. The ocean contains enough salt to cover Earth's land in a 500-foot layer, features the 56,000-km-long Mid-Oceanic Ridge, and holds more artifacts than all museums combined.

Owls are specialized nocturnal predators with remarkable adaptations, including the ability to rotate their heads 270 degrees, specialized silent feathers for stealthy flight, and asymmetrical ears for pinpointing sound. They have fixed, tube-shaped eyes, cannot move their eyes, and possess exceptional night vision. A group of owls is called a "parliament".

Did you know:
The ocean is blue because water molecules absorb red, orange, and yellow light (long wavelengths) while scattering blue light (short wavelengths), which reaches our eyes. While often seen as blue, the sea can appear green from chlorophyll-rich phytoplankton, brown from sediment, or red during algae blooms.

Did you know:

The night sky is never truly black; it glows with faint, natural colors like green, red, or yellow caused by atmospheric gases (airglow). The stars appear in colors corresponding to their temperaturesโ€”blue (hottest), white, yellow, and redโ€”while the human eye, losing color sensitivity in the dark, often sees them as white.

Did you know:
Tea cups originated as handle-less "tea bowls" in China, with Europeans adding handles around the 18th century to prevent burning fingers on hot porcelain. Saucers were originally designed to catch drips but were often used to cool hot tea, while special "mustache cups" from the 19th century kept facial hair dry.
