Grab your paddles and your innertubes, fishing rods and friends, the Spearfish Watershed Festival is coming up, right around the bend - August 1st! Whether you love hiking in the canyon, fishing in the creek, walking your dog in the park, or sitting on the porch & enjoying a good thunderstorm - we all love this watershed, so LET'S CELEBRATE!
Join in free community festivities, Saturday August 1 -
- hydroelectric plant tours, multiple tours running from 9-11:00am,
- water fest story time for young ones at Henry's Books at 10:00am
-a community creek cleanup, from 12 to 2pm, meet at the main shelter in City Park,
- and a family fun & education fair in City Park with local groups working and playing in our watershed, from 2-4PM main shelter in City Park.

During the winter of 1943, a warm chinook wind raised the temperature in Spearfish from minus 4 degrees to plus 45 degrees Fahrenheit in just two minutes, setting a world record for the fastest temperature change.

Now that ChinookFest Beerfest has moved indoors, today’s event will feel much more like a traditional beerfest and is not family-friendly.
With limited indoor capacity and a beer-focused setup, we kindly ask that kids do not attend so we can ensure a safe, comfortable experience for everyone.
