Located in Spartanburg, South Carolina, The Johnson Collection offers an extensive survey of artistic activity in the American South from the late eighteenth century to the present day. The Johnson family is committed to creating a collection which captures and illuminates the rich history and diverse cultures of the region. By making masterworks from its holdings available for critical exhibitions and academic research, the collection hopes to advance interest in the dynamic role that the art of the South plays in the larger context of American art and to contribute to the canon of art historical literature.

NOW LIVE: The Johnson Collection's New Website!

After over a year of designing and creating a refreshed brand with our fabulous partners at Social Design House, TJC is excited to announce our new website is ready for users to explore. This website merges multiple systems (Collection Management, Digital Asset Manager, and a Word Press site) to create one source of truth. Now TJC can share more artwork than before and be true to our new tag line, Southern Art For Every Eye.

Open Today! "A Soldier's View" at Richardson Family Art Museum at Wofford College.

From epic narratives to political cartoons, war has long shaped artistic expression while leaving an enduring mark on personal and national identity. Drawing on 23 works from The Johnson Collection, this exhibition explores conflict through the perspective of the individual soldier, examining the sacrifices of body, memory, and self that accompany military service.

The Richardson Family Art Museum is open to the public with free admission on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. and on Thursday from 1 to 7 p.m.

This week! Join TJC and Healing Harmonies for an evening of art, music, and wellness with a live performance during this month's ArtWalk.

Featuring musicians/music therapists, Alison Hughey, MT-BC and Forrest Paquin, MT-BC who will guide visitors through the soundscape of "Yellow."

TJC Gallery will be open from 12-8 PM on Thursday August 20, with ArtWalk from 5 - 8 PM, and the performance beginning at 5.

Join TJC, Alix Refshauge (RYT 500), and Healing Harmonies for our opening exhibition free Yoga practice starting at 5:45.

This practice is first come, first serve, with MeetUp reservation encouraged. Please bring your own mat and props to this all level practice.

Enjoy Yellow the exhibition, and be guided into shavasana with live music provided by Healing Harmonies. It is a practice you don't want to miss!

Healing Harmonies will be back in the Gallery for another live music performance during ArtWalk, August 20th from 5-7 PM.

It is all Yellow at TJC Gallery! Open Today from 12-4 PM visit TJC Gallery's new exhibition "Yellow." Rather than tracing a single chronology or artistic movement, this exhibition invites visitors to consider how one color connects works created across different places, periods, and perspectives. Seen together, these paintings reveal yellow as more than just a pigment.
