Sheep Incognito Art Gallery

Sheep Incognito Art Gallery Sheep Incognito by Conni Tögel — a sheepish perspective of the human condition. The sheep paintings visualize how much the mind can limit what we see.

Whimsical sheep art, colorful prints, gifts & books beloved by "Flockies" worldwide. Now also helping fellow artists stop blending into the flock and start selling their work Sheep Incognito - a flock of maaahem from the paintbrush of Conni Tögel

Why Sheep? We’ve been asked “Do you ship to Australia?” and “Do you offer layaway plans?” a hundred
times over the last 15 years, but “What’s with the s

heep?” and “Why sheep?” has by far been
the most asked question. My sheep are a lot like people in sheep’s clothing - not the most intelligent or adept creatures,
yet colorful in their personalities and behaviors. Once we remove
those constraints, we can see what is really behind the sheep pictures on canvas. So don’t get misdirected by the “cute” and “whimsical” sheep – read the titles of the paintings and you just
might discover their hidden agenda before they move on towards other pastures...

So here are the Top 10 reasons for sheep ....
1. Sheep are deficient, which makes them perfect models for my “slightly political” series. They deserve some votes...
2. Sheep say Baaaa - anyone that can say that much with just one word is worthy of some
attention (as opposed to some people that talk a lot without anything to say...)
3. Sheep will never make it into the American Idol show - so giving them their very own
platform of fame has become my goal (along with trying to get you to smile)
4. Sheep are ridiculous - always.
5. Sheep are peaceful - they don’t have trigger fingers.
6. Sheep wool is the ultimate high-tech material for everything from house insulation to
soap making. Anything that sophisticated must come from a pretty special factory
(and it runs on bio-fuel, too! The emissions are rather vile, though...)
7. Sheep are quite adept at mowing lawns. And flower beds. And the neighbor’s flowerbeds. And the dog’s food. And anything you really don’t want them eating. Composting machines.
8. Sheep are gullible creatures - as long as there is a bit of corn to munch, they will pretty much
let you make fun of them in any way you like and they won’t mind. Perfect victims for my
paintbrush and canvas (unlike human models...)
9. Sheep think everybody else is really smart. They are right.
10. Sheep have legs. Four of them. Family Pack of Roast Leg of Lamb...yumm.

This cute print just showed up on my newer website (sheep-incognito.com) - slowly transferring all the "Oldies but Goodies" to the new space, since the older site seems to have developed a severe case of hackering/ defunctioning/ etc.
Update your saved links to the new site, as well, so you don't miss out on new specials, extra content, new newsletter from the studio, and more of the Sheep Incognito flock!

Here is the new print on the new site:

Comment here if you have questions!
(I had to disable the Whatsapp messages - just because I have that particular setting turned on, does not automatically mean that I am open to "chatting in more detail", "going out for dinner or more", or developing a serious relationship with you, if you are a guy 🤣🤔 Read the room, guys lol - liking my work does not mean I like you in
THAT way LOL)

The prints of the new painting "Knit 1 Purrrl 5" just launched on my website!
Pricing starts at $25 for the 8"x10" prints. Also available (and of course, much nicer to hang on your wall) the popular hand-embellished giclée reproductions.

Anybody going to be at the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games this year?
It's my first visit - just to be there - so I think good times shall be had.
Super excited to finally just get to enjoy a festival, without having to set up the booth, worry about wind/rain/hail/heat/tornadoes/attendance numbers/sales/ packing/setting up/tearing down, and all the other anxiety-inducing things that come with doing art shows on the road.
Selling you wares there? Let me know, I'd love to see what you do!

This is quite true, actually.
And, it makes life happier, for sure.
Embrace mediocrity! 😅

Some NEW news (yep, I DID double the News!) from the studio: after decades of making a living as an artist — festivals, galleries, online, all of it — I'm now offering business consulting for artists.

I've built a following, lost momentum, and built it back again. I know what it feels like when sales dry up and you can't tell why, and I know what it takes to turn that around.
First up is the Artist Business Audit: a personalized written report covering why your work isn't selling, who your real buyer is, whether your pricing is working, what your social media is missing, and what to do next.

You fill out an intake form, I do the deep dive, and the report lands in your inbox in 3–5 days.
I'm starting with an introductory rate, and I'd love for some of my Flockies to be first:
Head to my website to see what this is all about:

(Well. Maybe a little to do with sheep.)
I've been working on something I've wanted to do for a long time, and I'm almost ready to share it. Stay tuned this week...

Sometime art needs to sit out of the activities list - today I potted two plants. (I KNOW, Right!? So VERY accomplished 😅)

Even little steps count, is my life motto -I don't aim to keep up with the faster people, and I refuse to fall all the way down in life.'😅
So, trophy for me, for doing something at least.🏆

And a trophy for you, for doing something today - tiny steps count as much as big steps!
