WireWood consists of Laura Koelle (rhymes with “roly poly”) and Keith Groover (rhymes with “hoover”), a cello/guitar duo from Greenville, SC, specializing in instrumental versions of rock and pop songs. Their shows are light-hearted and fun, and the music is energetic and beautiful.

Looking forward to working with Stephan this fall!

The Spartanburg Philharmonic Youth Orchestra is pleased to welcome Stephan Fillare as a Guest Conductor for the Symphony Ensemble for the Fall Concert cycle of the 2026-2027 season!

Stephan Fillare, Director of Orchestral Activities at Furman University, believes the most memorable orchestral performances are born from trust. His work as a conductor is shaped by the conviction that when every musician feels invested in a shared artistic goal, an ensemble becomes more than the sum of its parts—listening more deeply, communicating more freely, and discovering new possibilities together.

While July has been quiet for the Spartanburg Philharmonic this year, that hasn't always been the case.

For many years, we were proud to be part of Red, White, and Boom!, one of Spartanburg's favorite Fourth of July traditions. In this pic, the orchestra is providing the soundtrack to an evening of patriotic music under the direction of former maestro Bill Scott!

Today, Dr. Scott continues to serve the Philharmonic as a member of our Board of Directors... and we're excited to welcome him back to the podium this season to conduct Hub City Holiday on December 5!!!

We have an overdue item... 📚🎂

Happy belated birthday to our incredible librarian, Bob Borden!

Bob is the one who sources our music, prepares the individual parts, fixes the page turns, and so much more. If you've seen any of our concerts run seamlessly, thank Bob.

Bob devotes countless hours of care and dedication to Spartanburg Philharmonic and our Youth Orchestra. We hope you had a wonderful birthday, and we wish you another fantastic year ahead! 🎉🎶
