It's been a year since I’ve graduated college. I have learned a lot within that time, and I’m glad I can reflect on these words of mine, and in hindsight, know that the long journey was worth it.
Here is the official video for “A+ Student”. (Not the screen recorded version 😅)

Re: For at least 5 years I had a concept for a poem titled “A Student”, but it never felt like the timing was right, so I let the idea simmer. It’s funny because God was nudging me to write it for a long time, as I envisioned that it could be a spoken word piece for my college graduation. As my time at the University of the Bahamas started to wind down though, it seemed less likely that I would have the opportunity to speak at any graduation event either way, so I still didn’t write it. That is, until I got a few calls from some grad council friends asking if I could write a student reflection for our baccalaureate service. Although, I only had a day to write the reflection, I didn’t fret because, like I said, I had a spoken word concept for years, and now I just had to be obedient and finally write the poem that God was preparing me to write for a long time. I’m a full time videographer and performer, so I called one of my business partners, Nico, to set up one of our cameras so he could record the performance. I intended to put the video on my debut spoken word & music album later this summer, but by the time I got home from the service, the performance was already trending. God had other plans, and sometimes ya just gotta roll with the punches. Nonetheless, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who watched, liked, shared, commented and left messages for me. It means a lot that you have connected with the poem in some way.

I am an actor at the The Dundas Centre for the Performing Arts, so please support Shakespeare in Paradise this year, as we try to get the main Winston Saunders Theatre back up and running.
I am a former facilitator of the Adventure Learning Centre & Camp and there are efforts right now to get it back on its feet. There are no animals and there is a lot of infrastructural things that need work.
Thank you again!
