Excited & Crafty Just added an awesome new tool to my craft space — my sparkly white glassboard! 😍

The best part? All the sparkle and zero glitter shedding. Win–win! ✨

And check out those super strong magnets… I’m already obsessed!

🇺🇸 Patriotic Card Share! 🇺🇸
(And… a little behind-the-scenes oops 😅)

I had planned to film my very first YouTube cardmaking video for Veterans Day, but of course my camera decided to film the entire thing sideways. Sooo… new camera mount is arriving today, and I’m excited to try again soon!

In the meantime, I wanted to share the five A2 (4.25" x 5.5") patriotic cards I created. I absolutely loved making these, especially with Veterans Day in mind — and as a veteran myself, these themes always mean so much. ❤️🤍💙

✨ Card 1
Used a military-themed scrapbook paper from my stash along with soldier silhouettes.
Sentiment is from Honey Bee Stamps Because of the Brave, and the icon is from Gina K Designs Patriotic Heroes. I colored the icon with alcohol markers.

✨ Card 2
Background is Colorado Craft Company’s In This Together Big & Bold Flag stamped in Distress Oxide Weathered Wood.
The female soldier and sentiment are from CCC’s Military Strong Lovely Legs. I fussy-cut, colored them with alcohol markers, darkened the edges with a cool gray, and popped the sentiment up with foam squares.

✨ Card 3
All die cuts! I used Concord & 9th’s Primrose Garden dies with red, white, and blue flowers.
The sentiment is from Honey Bee’s Because of the Brave. I added shading to the leaves and blooms and used gold foil cardstock from Michaels for the berries.

✨ Card 4
A stripe-based design using blue cardstock strips (½", ¾", 1") spaced at ¼".
I added a thin ⅛" white strip layered over red foil between each blue section, then embossed the whole panel with Simon Says Stamp’s Dimensional Stars folder.
Sentiment is the Honey Bee Stamps Thanks layered buzzword dies.
Focal point is the eagle image from Honey Bee’s Let Freedom Ring.

✨ Card 5
Used the Gina K Patriotic Heroes layered flag heart to create a repeating red/white/blue background.
Sentiment is Honey Bee’s Because of the Brave, placed over a 3" vellum circle.
I also added a black shadow layer behind the sentiment to help it stand out.

I love all of them, but Card 5 might be my favorite! 🥰
Let me know which one you love most!

And thank you again to all who served — yesterday, today, and always. 🇺🇸

Taking a little break from cutting, gluing, and creating to honor those who’ve served — and those still serving.

As an Army Veteran (14 years, including a tour in Afghanistan), this day carries special meaning for me. Service takes patience, heart, and a whole lot of commitment — and I’m forever grateful to have shared that journey with so many incredible people.

Wishing all my fellow Veterans and their families a day of peace, reflection, and maybe a little creative joy, too. 💛🇺🇸

Triple Take Challenge – Sketch #13 from Kendra’s Card Challenge #18 ✨

You voted for Option B — the Bee Theme! 🐝 So I ran with it, using the Paper Rose Studios Bee & Butterflies Quick Cards Collection for this round of the Triple Take Challenge. 2nd picture is the original card i created several months ago.

Here’s how I gave one sketch three different lives 👇

💛 Card 1: Follows the original landscape sketch — a diagonal patterned strip across the background with a smaller rectangle tucked under on the left and overlapping on the right. The matting (the layer under the patterned paper) is an embossed gold metallic cardstock from my stash. I added a butterfly from the Quick Cards kit and a sentiment from Gina K Designs’ Enjoyable Greetings, stamped in Close To My Heart Evergreen Ink.

💛 Card 2: Switched to portrait orientation but kept the same structure. Replaced the sentiment rectangle with a bee ephemera circle bordered in yellow, and added a Thinking of You sentiment from the Quick Cards kit.

💛 Card 3: Went bold —kept the sketch landscape but straightened the diagonal strip and dropped it to the bottom edge of the card, then rotated and layered the rectangles for a fresh, dynamic look. Finished it off with a bee image and sentiment from the Quick Cards kit.

Everything came together with my Sweet Petunia Glue Press and some trusty foam squares from my stash.

🐝 Tell me below — which take is your favorite?
Would you like to see a video of me putting them together or maybe another remix of this sketch?

Triple Take Challenge Intro

👋 Hey crafty friends! It’s Angie from Ink Happens Designs, and I’m kicking off something NEW and super fun — the Triple Take Challenge!

✨ The idea is simple:
I take one card sketch... and reinvent it three totally different ways.
Same layout — three different styles, themes, or techniques.
Because every layout has more than one life, right? 😉

🔍 BUT — here’s where you come in!
I’m letting YOU pick the sketch for the very first challenge.

📌 I’ve got three sketch options pulled from cards I made in the past — and you get to choose which one I reinvent.

🅰️ Option A: School Theme
🅱️ Option B: Bee theme
🅾️ Option C: floral Theme

👇 Vote in the comments: A, B, or C!
I’ll tally the votes, and the winning sketch becomes the first Triple Take!

💡 And if you want to play along — yes, you totally can. I’ll post the sketch so you can create your own “Triple Take” too!

🖤 Thanks for being here, can’t wait to see what you pick!
Let’s make some ink happen!

11/06/2025

Welcome Everyone! Thank you for visiting. I’m Angie — Army Veteran, mom, creator, and believer that handmade beats perfect every time.

I started paper crafting in 2012 after returning home from deployment, and what began as therapy turned into a passion I now share through tutorials, challenges, and creative play.

I am just starting my channel but my plan is that you’ll find cardmaking videos, step-by-step builds, craft challenges, and a community that celebrates learning, experimenting, and embracing the occasional ink smudge.

Whether you’re new to crafting or covered in glue like the rest of us — welcome. Ink happens. Let’s make things anyway.
