As I scrolled through all my photos from this summer, I almost forgot about the day, my daughter asked, "Hey, mom, can we paint a mural of wildflowers on the fence?" And, of course my reply was, "Heck yeah! Let's do it!!" πΈπΌπ·π»πͺ» she took the reins with this project and it's been a work in progress cause our summer has been jam packed and crazy busy!
But it's with these tiny moments, that make me so proud the apple didn't fall far from the tree.. ππ±π³ she has such a vibrant imagination when it comes to creating. Painting has never been her go-to like me. She would rather sketch and draw for hours on end. So, when she wants to paint with mom, that over flows me with so much joy!
She's embarking on the start of her highschool career in the arts π¨ βοΈπ©βπ¨ and I couldn't be more proud of her. Honestly, I have moments I am overcome with envy because I would've LOVED the opportunity to go to a school specifically with an arts program. Now, I get to see bits of me through her art and know this is even more rewarding to watch her evolve into the artist she is meant to be. Both of our creative journeys tell a different story and that's okay. She teaches me amazing things everyday and I continue to be blown away at her wonderment and abilities!
I am just so grateful we get to both immerse ourselves in the arts alongside each other, growing, learning and evolving ever step of the way π₯°
