We are a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to supporting and serving local artists and craftspeople. Located in the heart of historic Sparta, NC, Alleghany Arts and Crafts is a feast for the eyes. We offer a beautiful array of locally created artwork and crafts. Our one-of-a-kind works range from fine art paintings, photography, pottery, painted glass, jewelry, quilts, clothing, knitting and crocheting

, baskets, toys, cutting boards, lazy Susan’s, cards, jams and jellies, to leather, woodwork and much more. Our mission is to support and serve artists and craftspeople by engaging the community through the sale of art and crafts and the promotion of education, exhibits, special programs and events.

MEET OUR ARTISTS - Today we feature Tim Pennington, Photography

Tim was born and raised in Chesapeake, VA and met his future wife while in college at Virginia Tech. She is from Grayson County and they decided to stay in the area after college. They currently make their home in Elk Creek, VA and love the natural beauty and the laidback lifestyle that the area has to offer.

Tim has always had an interest in photography but did not really start taking it seriously until 2018. He is self-taught and loves riding the backroads or hiking in the region to find scenic vistas or waterfalls, capturing a unique shot where possible. He loves to travel and often hikes in the region with a hiking group he met on Instagram.
