A part of Regionals is performing a One Act. We performed Dead Men Don’t Jaywalk and we received a Superior and the highest score, so our One Act will compete with the other Regional winners at State at the end of February. If we win there we’ll move on to perform at the International Thespian Festival. This is an entirely student produced play and was under the direction of Ben Hamilton and Tyler Heath. The following students participated in the show as actors an technicians:
Jonathan Grube, Kirsten Duvall, Willow Rocchi, Rebecca Gardner, Tod Warner, Cassandra Macon, Abigail Bernard, Riley Ogden, Alyssa VanOrnum, Crystal Holmes, Kylee Morse, and Gina Hoang.
I’m extremely proud of our students for receiving high scores in their Individual Events and the One Act, but they also were very helpful to keep Regionals running smoothly. We’ve never hosted Regionals before, but we ran it like we were pros. Members of the National Honor Society volunteered to serve as timers, door guards, and play music for Individual Events. We couldn’t have hosted our event without their help. They kept the halls quiet and helped the judges in the IE rooms. We’re also grateful to teachers that let us use their rooms for our Individual Events.
Thank you Nevada Thespians and the other WCSD Theatre Teachers for an awesome event! It's great to get together and give our students the opportunity to perform and get feedback on their work! Thank you for giving our students this opportunity!
