Since starting my studio work in 1999, I have accumulated over 1500 plugins--not including virtual instruments. However, going forward in 2026, these are the plugins I am using with very little exception.

Why?

Too many plugins out there--very popular and widely used plugins--have issues with aliasing, which is where non-linearities (distortion aka saturation, clipping etc) fold back into the hearable frequency ranges leading to transient smearing, hazy mixes and fatigue listeners.

My main, channel plugins are clean, not sterile, and do not alias. If there is a plugin that is going to alias, it is regulated to only 1 or 2 plugins, and has to be at a low enough level to be masked by the music. These are the plugins that fit my criteria. My clients are happy.

For about the last 2 weeks, the studio was silent due to an electrical issue that took out my preamps. After 2 days of rewiring the rack after getting things back... everything is working exceptionally. New layout for better workflow for myself and the artists i work with.

Prepping for some vocal recording.
I had someone DM me about the "moving blanket". Its actually a very heavy, dense sound blanket. Think of it like a gobo. Does a great job at tightening the sound.

Since my control currently needs to support tracking too, it does a great job to make a "booth"

Once the new tracking room is finished, come January, i will move it.

Picked up a 12u rack that is perfect for the guitar station. Pull out shelves to hold various pedals that are not on the main board. Tracking to parts with the ES-335 today.

Comparing vintage 60s with a Fane and Jensen speakers against a new Custom Reverb. The owner of the amp on the left said he'd have no problem gigging with the new version. While all three sound slightly different, they all sounded like Princetons, and the newer amp held its own with more growl, more rock attitude.

I am very happy to add the Princeton Custom reverb to the studio.
