Alittle late on the post, but there has been two race weekends that have happened since last posting!
First is the double header weekend at little wheels!
Saturday
Jr Honda: we qualified with a 7.170 which landed in the middle of the pack starting in the P2 for the A main.
For the A main Easton did really well keeping up with him still being new to the class and finished 3rd! 🥉
Jr Animal: we qualified with a 6.926 giving us the P3 for the A main.
In the A main, it was Eastons first time racing the animal and he did his best to keep up but ended the race in 6th place.
Sunday was definitely a learning day for Easton going from novice to Jr is a big step and he’s realizing he really has to work for it.
Jr Honda
In the heat race he started in the P9 and ended the race 6th! So he gained three positions which is great!
He started in the P6 and ended 7th, so unfortunately he lost a position but it’s something he’s still learning being in a more competitive class.
Jr animal
In the heat race he started in the P5 and ended 4th! Which landed him in the P2 for the A Main.
Unfortunately we are still trying to figure out the animal and he just wasn’t able to go as fast as he wants the car to go so we ended the race 6th. We will continue to tinker with the car to figure out what can make it go faster to be competitive with the kids in his class.
We decided to go out to Monroe last Sunday for their points race 9 so we can get more seat time and see if we could figure something out with the animal.
In the Jr Honda Easton started in P1 and dropped some positions and ended in 4th. It landed him in the B main starting in P3 and he drove like he should, the car was fast and he ended 2nd! Then came the wreck fest that was the A main, unfortunately two laps in the was a big pile up that Easton tried to avoid, and for a second we thought he did manage to avoid completely, but it turns out he did hit his tire and the car was broken and had to come off the track. That race went only 9 laps before it timed out.
Jr animal
Easton started P3 for the heat and ended 3rd. In the A main he started P1 but unfortunately the car is just not where it should be compared to the other two cars and Easton drove it as he should but just couldn’t make up the space between him and the other cars and ended 3rd.
We will get the animal all figured out and Easton will continue to learn and get more confident as we continue through the rest of the season.
Thank you to Hawkins Racing ent for the fast motors and thank you to our sponsors Grandma Susan and Papa Alan!
