Alittle late on the post, but there has been two race weekends that have happened since last posting!
First is the double header weekend at little wheels!
Saturday
Jr Honda: we qualified with a 7.170 which landed in the middle of the pack starting in the P2 for the A main.
For the A main Easton did really well keeping up with him still being new to the class and finished 3rd! 🥉

Jr Animal: we qualified with a 6.926 giving us the P3 for the A main.
In the A main, it was Eastons first time racing the animal and he did his best to keep up but ended the race in 6th place.

Sunday was definitely a learning day for Easton going from novice to Jr is a big step and he’s realizing he really has to work for it.

Jr Honda
In the heat race he started in the P9 and ended the race 6th! So he gained three positions which is great!
He started in the P6 and ended 7th, so unfortunately he lost a position but it’s something he’s still learning being in a more competitive class.

Jr animal
In the heat race he started in the P5 and ended 4th! Which landed him in the P2 for the A Main.
Unfortunately we are still trying to figure out the animal and he just wasn’t able to go as fast as he wants the car to go so we ended the race 6th. We will continue to tinker with the car to figure out what can make it go faster to be competitive with the kids in his class.

We decided to go out to Monroe last Sunday for their points race 9 so we can get more seat time and see if we could figure something out with the animal.

In the Jr Honda Easton started in P1 and dropped some positions and ended in 4th. It landed him in the B main starting in P3 and he drove like he should, the car was fast and he ended 2nd! Then came the wreck fest that was the A main, unfortunately two laps in the was a big pile up that Easton tried to avoid, and for a second we thought he did manage to avoid completely, but it turns out he did hit his tire and the car was broken and had to come off the track. That race went only 9 laps before it timed out.

Jr animal
Easton started P3 for the heat and ended 3rd. In the A main he started P1 but unfortunately the car is just not where it should be compared to the other two cars and Easton drove it as he should but just couldn’t make up the space between him and the other cars and ended 3rd.

We will get the animal all figured out and Easton will continue to learn and get more confident as we continue through the rest of the season.

Thank you to Hawkins Racing ent for the fast motors and thank you to our sponsors Grandma Susan and Papa Alan!

people ask me how I got Easton into racing. Well I remember this when I was his age at the exact same track he currently races at. I had so much fun as a kid doing it I knew my kid had to try it. So 25 years later we had to come back!

Double header this weekend! Come out and watch! It’s free! We will also be racing two cars!

Easton raced western grands this week/weekend!

Qualifying he qualified 7th which landed him 3rd for his heat race. After battling he tried to make
A pass for the lead going into the corner and spun the leader and had to go to the back. He finished this race 5th.

That put him in the b main. B main he started 3rd. Again tried a late pass and sent him to
The back. He then fought hard to make it all the way back up to 3rd place grabbing a transfer spot to the A main.

In the A main he started 8th out of 10. On the start he got pushed out and fell into 9th place. He kept his nose clean making some passes picking off a car at a time. He was wrecked a few times during this race but didn’t give up. Kept his head up and kept pushing forward to work himself into a 5th place spot.

Overall we’re very proud of how he drove. Everytime he gets in his car he learns something new and continues to strive to be better!
Now next week he’s going to start racing his second car! So excited to see him drive this new car!

Thank you Pete Hawkins Hawkins Racing ent for our screaming fast motor!

Thank you to our sponsors papaAlan McPherson and grandma Susan McPherson. Trips like this are hard to do without support!

Some pictures of the build for eastons jr animal car. We got this car awhile ago and have been slowly getting it together. Tore it down to the frame we sent it to Secoma Fence to get powder coated. Then ordered new panels all around. Then a brand new animal motor. This car looks amazing! The time is here and he’s ready to start racing this car so it was time to get it all together.

Thank you Pavelek Racing for helping us get the car dialed in!

We decided to move Easton into the next class today (jr. Honda). That being said he had to start in the back in both races. This is a new learning curve and challenge for him. He did great for his first time in the class and got to experience some track time with some very talented drivers.

In his heat race he started 8th got pushed out on the start and went back to 9th and spent most the race trying to get by the car that passed him to eventually get his spot back and finished 8th.

His main we started 8th and finished 6th! This was a good race for him and us to learn. Made a pass and stayed clean and was able to pick up a few spots. We saw him trying to make some other passes but we just need to work on the confidence to commit to it. Overall pretty good day of racing.

Thank you to our sponsor papa Alan McPherson and grandma Susan McPherson. We appreciate all the love and support

Thank you Pete Hawkins and Hawkins Racing ent for a fast motor!
