Okay okay! Hear me out! 😂🦃

There is so much more to raising your own food than people think! We don’t see our turkeys as dollar signs. They’re a part of our family while they’re here! We’re blessed to be able to raise these turkeys and share with our family and community! It’s normal for multiple family members to split the cost and we are happy to work with families who choose this option!

The stand is back this Saturday October, 17!

I spend more time than probably is necessary putting these menus together. It's important to me to try and make sure there is something for everyone! I try my best to pair sweet with savory, sweet and sugary with something milder and flavorful. So if you're able to swing by this weekend, I hope you're able to find something super yummy!

I'm also working on completing some admin work behind the scenes! The first order of business is making a new logo. We are currently using an AI logo from last year and for multiple reasons, I've decided this logo doesn't represent our values as a small business. So soon you'll see a new logo that captures the essence of the love and work that we pour into our land and animals on our homestead.

We’re open!
If you’re able to take time out your day to come support our little homestead, we are so grateful!

We’ve got fresh sourdough bread, sourdough pumpkin cinnamon rolls (my favorite!), oatmeal cream pies (Brian’s favorite!) and so many more goodies!

As always, we try to use organic, natural, and non-synthetic products where we can. Our homemade products will never have added seed oils or food dyes (although ingredients like oreos, m&ms etc will have seed oils and food dyes. We are not 100% dye free or seed oil free but we will never add them ourselves to foods).

Last year I was self conscious about calling it a “farmstand” since it was bread and handmade goods well THIS YEAR I HAVE JALAPEÑOS so we’re one step closer to putting the “farm” in “farmstand” 😂

🍂 The Rocki Roots Farm Stand is back THIS SATURDAY and we are so excited!

Our first opening day will be Saturday, October 3 from 8am - 6pm!

🚨 As some of you know, my husband is preparing to deploy shortly after the holidays. Between making freezer meals and final homestead projects, our time so limited! We’ve decided to lighten the load while still putting the stand out on select Saturdays through Christmas. 🤎

As usual, I’ll post my menu every Sunday (or Monday, I’ll do my best!) and preorders will close that Wednesday evening. We’ll also have fresh eggs available in the stand as supply allows.

With that being said, here is our first menu for the season! 🍁

This week I’ll be making:
- Regular sourdough
- Roasted Garlic + Italian Herb Sourdough
- Maple Pecan Sourdough
- Jumbo Sourdough Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls
- Oatmeal Cream Pies

We looked for apps to do preorders but everything requires a fee (BOOOOOOOOOO 👎🏼). So just shoot me a message to preorder and your order will be ready in the stand on Saturday! We are so excited for another year meeting the amazing folks in our community 🤎

🍂 Farm Stand Update! 🍂

After several months away, I’m so excited to finally say…

🤎 Rocki Roots Homestead’s Fall Farm Stand is tentatively reopening October 4!

Many of you have asked when we’d be opening again, so I wanted to share what happened.

Back in April, Brian left for a month, so I made the decision to temporarily close the stand. When he got back, we needed time to catch up on SO many tasks! We spent time cleaning chicken coops, catching up around the homestead, and getting everything back to the standard we want for our farm.

Then summer hit. ☀️😩

Between Tennessee heat and our west-facing farm stand, the afternoon sun turns the inside of the stand into an oven. Even with a refrigerator, temperatures just aren’t safe for eggs, baked goods, or many of the products we love offering.

After a lot of thought, we’ve decided to make the farm stand seasonal.

Going forward, we’ll be open during the cooler months when we can provide the quality and freshness you expect.

🍁 Tentative Opening: October 4 (weather permitting)
🎄 Season Ends: December 20

We’ll have fresh eggs, sourdough breads, baked goods, seasonal treats, and a few new surprises this fall that I can’t wait to share with you! (Here’s a hint, the garden is booming!)

Thank you for your patience, your encouragement, and for supporting our little homestead. It truly means more than you know.

My last two brain cells made this.

2 months, 23 chickens gone. I’m sure we didn’t invent this technique but I can’t believe we didn’t think of it sooner!

We learned a lot from this fox.

More than we expected, honestly.

This whole experience has changed how we’ll manage predators, free-ranging, and flock protection moving forward.

Now it’s time to take what we learned and make some improvements around the property.

Next up: predator-proofing.
