The Carolina Crab Brewing Company was incorporated in 2021. The 18-acre parcel (formerly the old Keeler Tree Farm) is situated on Long Beach Road in Southport, at the hub of Southport, Oak Island and St James Plantation. Initially expected to open in 2021, Covid 19 has delayed our opening like many new establishments across the country. But with that and all the supply chain issues tha
t followed hopefully behind us, “The Crab” should be operational this fall. Frank & Nancy Marchetti, the primary owners, will be teaming up with a dynamic and experienced group of professionals to offer craft brewed and commercial beers, along with specially selected wines. Leading the brewing process and the face of our beer is Justin “Maggs” Maggard, formerly of Check 6 Brewery. Maggs’ experience, passion and enthusiasm for brewing will be infectious for anyone visiting “The Crab”. Our Taproom crew will be managed by Mary Wilson, equally qualified and experienced in taproom/bar management. Mary’s welcoming attitude and personality will turn every new face into a friend. Mary and Maggs are here to serve as well as educate all of us who enjoy beer. Behind the scenes, but up front on our social media platforms is Lindsey Maggard, our Marketing & Sales Manager. Lindsey will not only be your electronic guide to the brewery, but to all that “The Crab” has to offer. We, and the rest of our staff, all experienced and professional individuals, look forward to meeting all our new friends at 4810 Long Beach Road.
