Join us for AUDITIONS for our winter production of Charlie’s Girls, a piece of theatre that examines the historic Manson Family and the murders of the summer of 1969.
‘These were your children; you threw them out and I took them in.’ Charles Manson, Gardener of the Haight, tended to the Flower Children. In a time of free love, why was war their first, last, and only hope? In the shadow of the murders of 1969, Charlie’s Girls explores the space in which the impressionable prey becomes the merciless predator.
We are looking for women, ages 18-35 (must read younger), to play the following characters:
Patricia Krenwinkle
Leslie VanHouten
Linda Kasabian
Susan Atkins
Squeaky Fromme
Family Member 1/Sharon Tate/Linda Deutsch
Family Member 2/Abigail Folger/Virginia Graham
It should be noted that, while none of these roles are technically pre-cast, four original cast members are already signed on to casting, leaving three roles to fill. That being said, as this is a piece that is still under development, there is room for more characters.
Pay: $1000 total for the project
Performance Dates: January 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10
Rehearsals to begin loosely in October (this means 1-3 dates, etc.)
Show WILL tech the week of New Year’s Eve, though will not rehearse that night.
Sides will be provided this week on our website. Virtual auditions are accepted; interested performers are asked to send in cold readings of sides to inboccaperformance @ gmail.com. Any questions can be mailed to this same email address.
