Wishing all of our students, families, teachers and school staff a great start to the new school year!

We loved seeing so many smiling faces at the Back to School Fair earlier this month, and we're sending everyone our best wishes for a year filled with learning, new experiences, new friendships and plenty of fun along the way.

🏐 NEW this fall: Youth Volleyball Clinics!
Whether your child is just learning the game or looking to sharpen their skills, our new Youth Volleyball Clinics are designed to help players build fundamentals, improve game awareness and develop confidence on the court.

Open to ages 7–14 and all skill levels, from beginner to advanced!
Saturdays, September 19–November 21
Beech Woods Recreation Center
🏐 Ages 7–10: 3–3:50 PM
🏐 Ages 11–14: 4–4:50 PM
$50/Resident or $65/Non-resident
Registration deadline: Friday, September 18

Players will work on progressive skill development, competitive play readiness and even tryout preparation, all while building teamwork along the way.

Young players can build their basketball skills with two upcoming programs at Beech Woods Recreation Center:

Youth Basketball Clinic for ages 7–10
Saturdays, September 12–October 24
10–10:50 AM

Basketball Skills & Drills for ages 7–11
Mondays, September 14–October 12
6–6:50 PM

Both programs give young players an opportunity to work on their basketball fundamentals while building their skills and confidence on the court.

Fee: $50/Resident or $65/Non-resident

Grasshopper Basketball introduces kids ages 4–6 to basketball in a playful, age-appropriate setting. The focus is on participation, listening and learning how to be part of a group, making it a great first step onto the court.

In fact, fall classes begin in September, with plenty of opportunities to get moving, learn something new and have fun at Beech Woods.

🎾 Finishing touches are underway!

The Beech Woods Park tennis courts will be closed Wednesday, August 12 as crews complete the court refresh project.

After last week's power washing, crack repairs, repainting and other improvements, workers will be back Wednesday to put the finishing touches on the courts.

Thank you for your patience while this project is completed. We look forward to having the refreshed courts ready for play!

Tonight's Park It Event Has Been Canceled.

Due to the forecasted strong winds and a high chance of rain, tonight's Park It event at Beech Woods Park has been canceled.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we prioritize the safety of our guests, staff and vendors.

The event will be rescheduled for the fall, and we'll announce the new date as soon as it's finalized.

The fun isn't over, though! Be sure to join us for another Park It Family Fun Night, next Monday on the Southfield Municipal Campus Front Lawn! Another evening of family fun, live entertainment and the Super Mario Galaxy movie showing under the stars.
