The Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Southbury, opened their doors in December of 2011. In 2022 we moved to a new location at Southbury Plaza with an elegant, friendly, no pressure environment in which our students can learn great dance from world class instructors. Our most important priorities are that our students have fun while they improve their dance skills. Fred Astaire took great pride in a st

andard of excellence which is still alive and well in our studio. Our instructors have completed a rigorous training program and are Certified teachers. We train and promote our students through the trophy system and have beginners, social dancers, competitors, and advance level dancers. Our unique qualifications both in American and International Styles allow any student to progress from a beginner to any goal they set for themselves in a very short time frame. We serve the following communities in Connecticut: Southbury, Woodbury, Oxford, Naugatuck, Seymour, Waterbury, Watertown, Ansonia, New Milford, Prospect, Derby, Shelton, Woodbridge, Wolcott, Plymouth, Thomaston, Washington and Huntington, Newtown, Bethel, and surrounding towns.

We want to give a huge thank you to Stephen Knight for spending the past 3 days working, coaching, and mentoring both our students and our dance instructors. Your passion, knowledge, and dedication made such an incredible impact on everyone who had the opportunity to learn from you this week.
We truly believe that students who consistently take coaching lessons grow twice as fast in their dance journey, and this week was another beautiful reminder of how valuable that training and mentorship can be. The growth, confidence, and inspiration we saw in our dancers over these past few days was amazing to witness.
On behalf of all 3 of our dance studios, Southbury, Old Saybrook, and Madison-CT, thank you, Stephen, for the outstanding teaching, encouragement, and energy you brought to our dance family this week.
