Today's embroidery progress:

So...this is how the first layer looks on the hill, stitched before I add the trees.

I think the upper most trees will have shadows. The lower trees won't need it because they are already in deep shadow.

I worked on another coloring page over the weekend; I had this (new to me) coloring book by Melpomeni Chatzipanagiotu: 'Dream Voyage'

It is 100% fantastical, so a fun one to abandon any realism whatsoever. I threw just about everything in my coloring arsenal at this page. A mixed media one for sure! 😁

However...because of that, it really falls flat in photos. 😮‍💨 In hand, it is wonderfully shimmery, and glittery. Either my phone is getting too "tired" to get good shots, or I'm becoming terrible at snapping the pics. 😒 ...Or, my eyes are just that bad.🧐 Anyway, I did my best. The short video helps a little but not much.

It was loads of fun!

It's been exactly 1 month since I began this piece; I can say, I'm now at the half-way point.
It seems like this one is going faster than the Autumn one did. The sky is really much simpler in comparison. Mostly solid, gradient. I thought the Aurora would have been more difficult. However, it wasn't.

Now...I move on to the winter landscape, moonlit, with subtle reflection of the Aurora. I need to make sure the shadows are in the correct location. Even though the scene is somewhat realistic, I am very aware of my surrealistic style. I want the scene believable and magical at the same time. 😊
Updates on progress from this point, may slow... I am so honored that so many are following my work! "Thank you" 🥰

I finished that last shade of blue in the sky at least. I guess this is visually the half-way point on this piece. Technically, most likely not though. The landscape coming up will take time, I'm sure.

Right now, I need to figure out the shadow of the moon color. I might have the right blue-grey hue, maybe a hint of violet if possible. The crescent part, I have what I need. I have to stitch the moon before the clouds since it is behind. The clouds should be pretty simple I hope, we'll see about that when I get to it. 😊
