We had such an incredible morning learning from one of Broadway’s best, and we are so grateful to Danny for sharing his talent, wisdom, and passion with our DFT family.

🐾 CASTING CALL: PORTHOS 🐾

DeSoto Family Theatre is searching for the final cast member of Finding Neverland…and this one walks on four legs! ✨

We are looking for a lovable, well-trained dog to play Porthos, J.M. Barrie’s faithful companion, in our upcoming production at the Heindl Center for the Performing Arts.

🐶 What We’re Looking For:
• Medium to large-sized dog
• Friendly, calm temperament
• Comfortable around children, lights, music, and applause
• Able to walk onstage with a handler and remain relaxed in a theatrical environment
• Shaggy or doodle-style breeds are ideal

Examples of the look we’re envisioning:
• Labradoodle
• Goldendoodle
• Sheepadoodle
• Portuguese Water Dog
• Similar large, fluffy breeds

(Unfortunately, very small dogs or terrier/chihuahua-type breeds would not be the right fit for this particular role.)

Rehearsals for Porthos begin late June
Performances: July 31-August 2 at Heindl Center for the Performing Arts
