My dad and sister decided to set my mothers booth up in our home town of Roan Mountain, like she normally does every year during the Roan Mountain Rhododendron Festival. While my dad and i were going through her stuff we found a box of Laurel Cove Music Festival items she had made. I dont know why she had all of these put away but if anyone is interested, give me a price and ill get em to you. If there is anything you would like of my mother's (I will post some pictures tomorrow) just message me or even better come by the festival and say hello this weekend.

Im still processing Laurel Cove Music Festival this year while spending some time time on the river with my dad. I was worried how the one would go because my moms passing is still real fresh. Mom never got to set up a booth at LC but was planning to this year before she got real sick. She was real excited when Jon said she could set up.
During the last few days before she passed, she gained some consciousness and started talked about preparing for LC and what she needed to do. She didnt make it to LC and it still breaks my heart she never got to meet my LC family.
Day 1 of LC Blake Carpenter and Stephanie gave me a wrapped gift and inside were a picture of me and mom, a KY ornament and the inscription. It originally broke me down and i had to leave it upside down for the majority of the festival. It got better throughout the festival and i evenutally could turn it upright.
This is why I love LC. The people/family.
I will forever have this picture hanging in my booth. Not to remember the loss but to feel the love.

This may be a long post, but here is my rundown of Laurel Cove Music Festival this year. These pictures are all from the last day.

Well to be honest I have been having a few boughts with depression and I really, REAALLY needed the light of LC and some good weather and we got both!!! Thank goodness!

This festival and its people filled my happiness jar for a bit. The shows were great, the people were great and its exactly what my brother Caleb and I needed. There were alot of folks that I noticeably missed none so more than ol' NO SHOW JIMBO. Im not naming any names because there are so many but I loved seeing everyone this year. I got/gave all the sweaty hugs. Thanks to everyone that performed, supported, volunteered, or just came to my booth and said hello. It means alot to me and my family.

Ive definitely got some new artwork i have to do based on the music i heard. I made alot of contacts and there are some really interesting things going to be happening in the future. Meeting Michael and his crew with "Where the Mountains Sing" was awesome and I cant wait to see what he does with this documentary. (Michael is just a good dude too!)

Lastly...i will name 2 people...thanks to Jon Grace for EVERYTHING he does, but most of all always giving me a spot to plop my booth. He and his team treat me and my family like we are special and it NEVER goes unnoticed. HUGE thank you to my brother Caleb. He is my best friend in the world and he is the best teammate ever slinging artwork. He always gives me the opportunity to run my mouth with folks and see shows at the other stage. That is a huge thing to me. He brought his son Jayden with him and it was his first festival ever and hes got the music bug bad now. Im sure you will see this combination running my booth alot more in the future.

Its like the day after Christmas now.

Jon Grace gave me my first opportunity to set up a vendor booth in 2022 at Laurel Cove Music Festival. He has been a close friend since and I'd take a bullet for this guy. This is one of the only pictures we've ever had together and I love it. Its also cool he wore the exact outfit I portrayed him in through my festival poster this year (see the owl). What a clever fella he is.

This will be the first year at Laurel Cove Music Festival without my oldest son Seamus since 2022. He was with me when I set my very first festival booth up there and he has "helped" me every year since. Hes 17 now and has a job in Idaho and just cant make it in this year and it breaks my heart. This year I will have none of my kids with me. That may be a bad idea.

BUT.....Seamus will be coming in for Jackson County Watermelon Festival - Rock the Rind So if you've met Seamus running around the Cove pestering all the artists for signatures and want to say hello, you'll have to come to Indiana this year.
I hate my kids getting old BTW.
