Hello everyone, I’m having an art opening this Friday the 29th in Yalikavak!

I have been busy. Making art gives me solace in these crazy times! These new collages bring me a sense of hope - that beauty can ease some pain and give a person a will to go on among turmoil. I gather scraps of EVERYTHING 😂. Recycle old papers, cloth, product packaging, the imagination is limitless. The pieces are on average 30 x42cm. One can dm me for prices. Babamın zamanında gazetecilik siyah beyazdı. Babam rolleiflex kamerasıyla dünyayı bize sunuyordu. Haber peşine koşardı, kamerası boyundan asılı , olay yerinde fotoğraf çekip, eve gelip, banyomuzda filimi yıkayıp, haberi daktiloya - tak tak tak yazıp,basına hızla giderdi. Hürriyet gazetesi ilk olmak istiyordu bu haberi yayınlamak için. Babam çoğu zaman, gazetecilerin arasında bunu başarıyordu !Fotoğraf çekmek zevki ondan aldım. Artık her şey kolay. Tuşa, tık yapıp istediğin imaj senin kolayca. O zamanla bu zamanların farkı renk ve hız. Ara sıra nostalji için siyah beyaz giriyor yene anılarımıza. In my father’s time, a newspaper reporter’s life was in black and white. My father with his rolleiflex camera showed us the world. With his camera slung around his neck, he would chase down a story , take photos, dash home, develop the film in our bathroom,clack clack on his typewriter with the news and off he would run to the associate press office to send his story. His newspaper Hürriyet wanted to be first with the news. My father succeeded most of the time! I got my love of photography from him. Every thing is easy now. One push of a button and any image is yours easily. The difference between then and now is color and speed. Once in awhile, black and white is used - often in an a nod to old times and for nostalgia, for memories sake.

Hello 2023. I have just met you and I’m ready for our new relationship. I promise to treat you with love and respect if you will honor me with such kindness. I am ready to give you my all, I am ready to appreciate all the days we will share, all the new memories,the new experiences and wisdom that will come from our adventures. Do not betray me😂, stand by me and I may surprise you with my gratitude and faith. In my youth, I was in a hurry for the next stage, impatient for what the next year/s would bring and I took those years for granted. I guess youth can be a time of folly, the misguided belief that time will be endless, belief that your body will never betray your trust. I know a little more each year, more about life, more about myself, more about what it is that is truly important and valuable for my well being. I thought I knew so much even in my twenties, I was so wrong. I was only watching out for the big things but I have learned that it is the little simple things that actually make our life worth living. I keep my eyes and mind open for the little gestures.
Take my hand dearest new year and hold it tight. I will learn patience by your side, I will go with the flow, I will show my gratitude for each day that I remain breathing, I will show my appreciation for the love and care that I may receive and I will give back that love abundantly. I am blessed to be where I am at the moment. I am in nature, I am in a warm welcoming home and grateful for my hosts who have allowed me to rest, paint and spend time with my loved ones. These beginning months I will treasure and remember. I am blessed. Thank you universe , thank you loved ones 🙏🏼

Good morning World! We are getting ready to say goodbye to an old friend who has finished their term in our lives 😂 We are ready to turn the page, we are ready for the new! This old year graced us with life and more wisdom- hopefully 😅. We humans mark our existence here in years. A year is a bundle of 365 days and we choose how to use it. It is just that- a given set of days! Did we live it well? Did we love and be loved? Did some of our dreams come true? Did we learn more about ourselves? Pursue passions,desire? Did we not give up hope? It is a grey misty morning in south Hampton, as if the universe is asking for self reflection. I’m here on a small dot on a green orb floating in space. What does it all mean? A question I have been asking since I was six!😂. I’m worried about how we are choosing to live in this day and age. I can see that so many of us are living in an altered reality. A heavily filtered and edited version of their lives. So many caught up in capturing in images every single moment of their “living” and playing it for the rest of us on social media - a nicely edited version of their life ! We have each of us become Hollywood directors. The right light, angle, filter, pose and background as if to prove that they are indeed “ living the best life”! Step back and just live in the moment, experience life head on and not through the screen of your phone. Put down that phone, stop thinking of what you should record and just see it all with your eyes and enjoy! Have I said enough 😂. New Year’s Eve and day are just that - days! We have hopes, dreams we want to fulfill however having a positive outlook is the key! Each year in the guise of time is actually a gift! Each day a new start. May this New Year be filled with new discoveries , new adventures and peace in one’s heart. Foremost be kind, giving and thankful for just the simple things you have- treasure it all. Love the journey!!🙏🏼🧿🥰
