I've been playing for over 20 years and this book is still forcing me well outside my comfort zone of technique, independence, and creativity. The phrases are great - they help make the more technically oriented exercises much more musical than just burning through sticking patterns. The drum set applications are where the book shines for me - you actually see how the technical exercises can be applied in a musical setting. Lastly, the written drum set applications for each exercise are a great seed for creativity - you can use them to inspire new applications changing the limbs, voices, etc depending on your needs/how deep you want to take each exercise. I can certainly see myself working out of this book for a long time.”
