Stepping back into this competition after six years was both humbling and deeply inspiring.
Sway Dance Academy has never been about quantity or perfection. It is about people who choose, with intention, to commit to this beautiful passion of dance.
I’m deeply grateful for the students I’ve met along my 15+ year dance coaching journey. Even on the days I hesitate, their dedication consistently pushes me beyond my comfort zone.
Thank you for inspiring me this year to keep moving forward and for helping keep our team aligned and accountable to our goals.

This year’s Summit marks my last competition, and I could not have chosen a more fitting way to close this chapter winning 2x 1st place with this Sway Bachata routine alongside my dear friend Bambino.

Just got back to Utah a couple of months ago, and I’m already feeling the love and support from my students. It’s truly overwhelming in the best possible way.

When I returned, I was focused on getting back into my own training and routines. But as soon as my students found out I was back, they basically organized themselves and encouraged me to start teaching again, and I’m so glad they did.
Their energy, commitment, and love for dance have made this return incredibly meaningful.

With the USBC event just around the corner, they didn’t hesitate to step up and bring back some of the old routines we never got the chance to perform. Their willingness to show up, work hard, and support our local events has truly inspired me.

I’m beyond grateful to have such amazing people on my team. They motivate me to grow and be the best instructor I can be
I deeply believe that if my students don’t become better dancers than I am, I’ve failed as a coach. That’s the commitment I bring to every class.

I’m so excited for this new generation of Sway Dancers. I wish I could fast forward time just to see how far they’ll go.

Feeling incredibly blessed to be surrounded by so much heart, talent, and drive. Thank you my Sway fam ❤️💃🕺

About a month ago, I gave a little challenge to one of my students, Daniel “El Bambino” from that moment, our Bachata Pro-Am project was born, and last night was just the beginning.
