THANK YOU to our friends and all who came tonight to our concert — It was a packed house! Thank you to our brilliant soloists, Danielle Sinclair and Esma Pasic-Filipovic who performed so beautifully. Thank you to our fantastic conductor, Dr. Ruth Ochs, for putting together a wonderful program and inspiring all of the WCO to play so well! And finally, thank you for the 2 standing ovations - we love our audience!

Our next concert is this Saturday, May 31 at 7 PM at Hillman Hall on the Westminster campus 101 Walnut Lane, Princeton, NJ. One of our soloists is the fantastic Danielle Sinclair!

Danielle Sinclair holds a B.S. degree in Music and French from Indiana University, Bloomington; and a M.M. degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Northern Iowa. She has performed with orchestras throughout the country in works ranging from Bach’s Magnificat and St. John Passion to Respighi’s Lauda per la Natività del Signore and Orff's Carmina Burana, and in numerous operatic roles including Musetta in La Bohème, Despina in Così fan tutte, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel and Mabel in Pirates of Penzance. In 1995 she was named Grand Prize Winner of the Opera at Florham Guild Competition, and in July of that year performed on the Apollo Muses Concert Series to critical acclaim.

Locally, Ms. Sinclair performs frequently in the Westminster Conservatory Faculty Recital Series, and with the Princeton Society of Musical Amateurs. She has appeared with both New York City Opera and the Opera Company of Philadelphia. Ms. Sinclair is a member of the Voice and Speech Trainers Association (VASTA), and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), where she currently serves as secretary of the New Jersey Chapter.
Her students have gone on to study music and theater at Carnegie Mellon, Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, New England Conservatory, University of Michigan, Rutgers University, and Northwestern University.

Introducing our piano soloist for our May 31st concert at 7 PM:
Esma Pasic-Filipovic, a gifted, experienced, and cultivated pianist from Bosnia and Herzegovina (the former Yugoslavia) has built a distinguished career as a soloist, chamber musician, and Radio Sarajevo recording artist. Ms. Pasic-Filipovic received her BMA and MMA from the University of Novi Sad in Serbia and pursued postgraduate studies in musicology at the Leopold-Franzens University of Innsbruck, Austria. Formerly a member of the piano faculty at Westminster Conservatory of Music, Rider University, she also served as Director of the Honors Music Program. She is active as an adjudicator for several organizations and is a member of the board of the New Jersey Music Teachers Association. A member of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Science, Ms. Pasic-Filipovic received the 2022 Top Teacher Award from Steinway and Sons. She currently serves as Piano Department Head and a member of the faculty at the Newark School of the Arts. Under her guidance, her students have won numerous competitions.

Ms. Pasic-Filipovic has served as an accompanist at many academic institutions, including University of Sarajevo, Musikhochschule of Vienna, Austria, and Westminster Choir College of Rider University. As a soloist, soloist with orchestra, and as chamber musician, she has performed and recorded in the former Yugoslavia, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland, and the United States.

Our last concert of this season is Saturday, May 31 at 7 PM - and we are celebrating Vienna! Please come to listen to Viennese waltzes, music by Shubert and a Beethoven piano concerto. Our guest soloists are Esma Pasic-Filipovic (piano) and Danielle Sinclair (soprano). Come and enjoy a delightful evening of music of Vienna!
