🎶 Join Us for an Afternoon of Music – Sunday, March 29 at 3 PM! 🎶
The Westminster Community Orchestra invites you to a wonderful afternoon of music at our upcoming concert on Sunday, March 29 at 3 PM.

We are especially excited to feature recorder soloist Juliana Ogihara, performing Concerto No. 2 by John Baston. Juliana was born in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, where she began studying recorder at Sonarte at the age of seven. There, she regularly performed with fellow students both for fun and in concerts.
After moving to New Jersey in 2024, Juliana continued her musical studies at Westminster Conservatory of Music with Timothy Urban and has been a regular performer in the Conservatory’s student recitals. In addition to recorder, Juliana also plays flute with the band at Millstone River School. When she’s not making music, she enjoys art, math, and gymnastics.

Come support this talented young musician and enjoy an inspiring program with the Westminster Community Orchestra. We look forward to sharing this special performance with you!

The WCO celebrated a "big" birthday at rehearsal on Jan 28, 2026. Beth LaPat, one of our first violins, told us that her violin is 100 years old! It was made in Prague, Czechoslovakia, by Otakar Spidlen. He was a successful and prosperous violin-maker. Beth surmises that the violin made its way to the US by way of an American soldier who was in the area during WWII. Beth kindly brought cake to celebrate her violin's 100th birthday. Thank you, Beth!
