Being a business owner isn’t easy truthfully, most paths worth taking aren’t.
Building something from passion means constantly peeling back layers you didn’t even know existed.
Knowledge. Mentorship. Funding. Timing. Self-trust.

I thought I had everything under control… until I didn’t.
The lessons came fast, unannounced, and heavy.
They broke me down enough to ask the real question: Is this still what I want?

And the answer isn’t fear, it’s clarity.
I know who I’m becoming. I know where I’m going.
So I took a step back to reconnect, to realign my actions with my vision.

Survival can make your world small.
But success asks you to hold many things at once with intention.

This birthday reminded me to recenter.
To see what is, not mourn what wasn’t or rush what hasn’t arrived yet.
Renew your mind.
Realign your life.

Since the pandemic, my cousins and I created our own Christmas traditions and one of my favorites is decorating their home for the holidays. It started during a year when I couldn’t afford the gifts I wanted to give, so I offered my creativity instead. That little act of love turned into a tradition they request every year.

They let me do whatever I want, and there’s something so freeing about having that trust and creative space. This year my cousin wanted a new vibe, so I transformed her tree into a dreamy blue Christmas and filled the room with magic. It took a full day, but it officially kicked off my holiday season in the best way.

Now I’m low-key addicted to decorating trees, and I can’t wait to see the whole family gathered around my creations during Christmas week.

Welcoming their first little one together, this beautiful couple filled my studio with nothing but love and warmth. When we first met, our Spanish–English exchange stretched my language skills (and reminded me I need to keep learning!), but love has a way of speaking for itself. Their connection is so inspiring, it reminds me to keep hope alive for a love just as deep, radiant, and beautiful.
It was amazing bringing this beautiful couples vision to life.

On Friday, August 15, I reentered the art scene with new work featured in Monad Gallery’s Echoes of Culture exhibition. The theme was dedicated to showcasing the dress rituals and celebrations of culture, both domestic and international.

As a Haitian Puerto Rican woman from New York City, I chose to highlight my Afro-Caribbean heritage by combining storytelling elements from both sides of my lineage. I invited my cousin to be the subject of the project, bringing Haitian and Afro-Caribbean traditional attire into a modern Brooklyn setting.

The photographs were taken in Park Slope and Little Haiti, two neighborhoods deeply connected to my family’s history. My Haitian side lived and owned for decades in the brownstones of President Street, where my father, his siblings, and my grandmother built their lives in a predominantly Black working-class community. By situating traditional garments in these familiar spaces, I sought to honor both the cultural and economic realities that shaped my family.

The use of bold, vibrant colors symbolizes the Caribbean diaspora, reflecting resilience, joy, and survival through generations. This body of work stands as both a tribute to my family’s roots and a celebration of the cultural fabric that continues to shape my identity.
