You are invited to a truly distinctive exhibition at Quinn Gallery: a collection of fine art photography featuring the extraordinary sand sculptures of artist and sculptor Scott Dodson - Yes! Dodson built the castles and then waited for the perfect lighting to compose the photography!

For years, South Padre Island has been home to remarkable castles built from sand, rising and falling with the tides. Scott Dodson has captured these fleeting monuments through the lens, transforming them into lasting works of art. This exhibition will showcase 15–20 limited edition photographs of these sandcastles, each printed on high-quality metal for striking depth, detail, and durability. Join us for a special reception on Friday, October 3, from 6-9 pm, and experience this rare fusion of sculpture and photography.

What makes this exhibition even more special is the timing. Scott Dodson is not only presenting this photographic series at Quinn Gallery but is also participating in the beloved annual Sandcastle Days festival, where artists from around the world gather on our island to shape the shore into wonders of imagination. Visitors will have the rare opportunity to experience the sandcastles on the beach and then see them reimagined as collectible fine art within the gallery.

This exhibition bridges the temporary and the permanent, honoring both the artistry of sand sculpture and beauty of South Padre through photography.
