there’s no easy way to go about this so i’ll just start with if you’ve been following me for awhile, you’re probably familiar with my baby boy, bubba 🐶 over the last few years i’ve done a couple of different fundraisers for him. you guys have helped me pay for things like TPLO surgery and cancerous lump removals. unfortunately, this time will be a little different… about two-ish weeks ago we went to the vet for some various symptoms and the diagnosis was that he most likely has lymphoma. due to his age, 4 different run ins with cancer and a total of 5 surgeries in 3 years, i made the decision to not do any testing or treatment and just keep him as happy and as comfortable as i can until his quality of life is no longer sustainable. i’m not sure how much time i have left with him, but the life expectancy for lymphoma is pretty grim. for now, while he’s lost a lot of weight, he’s still movin n groovin and snarfing down food and snacks.
i’m not sure what to expect over the next few weeks or month, so it will still be business as usual until i have a better idea. but if you have an appointment with me in june, july or august just know i may be a bit emotional and will probably need to reschedule some people depending on how everything unfolds. please be patient with me 🥲 while pet loss isn’t always met with sympathy, he’s been with me through thick and thin and the thought of not having him by my side is absolutely heartbreaking.
i’m doing another fundraiser to help make sure his final days are filled with his favorite treats, places and activities before we prepare for an at home euthanasia. if any of you have had to put a pet down, you know it’s unfortunately not cheap and is all required up front. between vet appts and having to get a new car, my budget was not ready for this expense :’)
