Football Flashback Friday: Thierry Henry of Arsenal (2023)

Back in 2023, I was commissioned to create a colored pencil drawing inspired by one of the most iconic celebrations in Arsenal history.

Titled Thierry Henry of Arsenal, the piece depicts Thierry Henry in my signature bodiless style, capturing the emotion and energy of the moment rather than focusing on individual features. Behind him, a simple outline of supporters fills the stadium, creating a backdrop that reminds us that football is always about more than the players on the pitch; it's about the fans who live every moment with them.

What drew me to this image was the collective joy it represents. A winning goal. A shared celebration. A memory frozen in time.

Sometimes a single celebration can tell the entire story of a match.

Taking Houston 2026 to the streets.

Excited to partner with EV1Pro on a special project that brings the Houston 2026 Collection beyond the gallery walls and into the city itself.

Together, we've transformed an entire van into a moving canvas, wrapped with designs from the collection that celebrate Houston, football culture, and the excitement building toward the 2026 World Cup.

What started as sketches and artwork is now traveling through Houston, sharing the energy of the beautiful game with people wherever the road leads.

The mural is on the move.

One of the most exciting parts of this project has been watching the East End Gateway Mural make its journey from the studio to its final home—literally riding alongside the rail that inspired part of its story.

As the installation continues this weekend, the mural is beginning to reveal its full scale along the Harrisburg corridor, transforming a daily transit route into a welcoming gateway for residents and visitors alike.

Created to welcome fans from around the world during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the mural celebrates the history, culture, and energy of the East End while honoring the rail line that has connected this community for generations.
Seeing the artwork travel the tracks before becoming part of the landscape feels like a fitting metaphor for Houston itself—a city always moving forward.

Join us next week as we celebrate its completion.

Football Flashback Friday: Football is Life (2022)

Back in 2022, I created Football is Life, a series of four colored pencil drawings exploring the idea that football is more than a game, it becomes part of who we are.

The series featured vintage World Cup footballs from 1900, 1930, 1934, and 1950, rendered in pink pencil and transformed into something more symbolic. Inside each ball, I depicted a fetus-like form, imagining the football as a womb; a visual metaphor for the idea that, for many of us, football is life.

It was a reflection on passion, identity, and how deeply the beautiful game shapes communities, memories, and dreams across generations.

And now, with the 2026 World Cup fast approaching in Houston, that feeling feels even more real. Soon, our city will welcome the world through the same game that has inspired so much of my artistic journey.

The countdown continues.
