I’ve posted this mix before, but today it feels a little different.

Going from Play That Funky Music into 9 to 5 and watching another generation sing along to Dolly.

That’s what great music does. It keeps finding new dance floors and new generations.

RIP Dolly Parton. What a legacy.

Some songs mean more.

“Time for Me to Fly” was an important song for this family and a way to remember someone they had lost.

Watching the father of the groom and the family come together, sing every word, smile and celebrate was one of my favorite moments of the night.

Not every special moment at a wedding is a first dance or a toast. Sometimes it’s simply playing a song that means something to the people in the room — and letting the moment happen.

I’ve seen the worm plenty of times at weddings.

Backwards? Okay, pretty cool.
Forward? We’ve got a race!

Friday night at Fenway I was waiting for Chris Stapleton to play ONE song… Joy of My Life.

Because 24 hours later, Emma & Austin were planning to end their wedding with that exact song.

He played it.

And the next night, I got to watch them close out an incredible wedding with their final slow dance together.

From Fenway Park to their final dance. Pretty cool how that worked out.
