A parent asked me the following: If I see The Little Mermaid, who will my child know from Stage Play? The answer: Kyleigh Vieu-Fleury, Reese Mackenzie, Emily Chartier, Laurel Tramazzo, Eva Lewis-Horlitz, Tessa Gauthier, Martin Gonzalez-Meyer, Emily Couture, Liam Sibley-Welch, Sthela Sibley-Welch and Miss Rachel Moses! That is of course in addition to all the kids they know from school :) We hope to see lots of friendly faces in our audience. Youth theater matters!

Hello my Stage Play friends! I am so excited to hear that Emily Couture and Sthela Sibley-Welch have joined our crew for Mermaid! We can probably use two additional crew members, so if you wanna join and have some fun with us, let me know!😊😜💞🐷🐖🐽📣🎼🧜‍♀️🧜‍♀️🤭😃😂

Stage Play Alumni: Though the major roles have been cast, we could still use your help with The little Mermaid. We will be looking in particular for stage crew (to help move props on and off stage etc). The show is in the first week of April, so as a crew member you would need to be available at least the last two weeks of March, Monday and Thursday evenings, and the first week in April every evening from 6 to 9. If you wanted to be part of a stage number, there are still some possibilities for that as well. ☺️ If you are interested, shoot me a message. Thanks. Hoping you will decide to come out and have some fun wth us!

Congratulations to all the Stage Play folk who came and tried out for The Little Mermaid ! It was so great to see you all. So how do you check on casting? Well, later this week parents will receive an e-mail from BCT. We will be announcing all of the named roles you are familiar with, but there will also be a special section listed as chorus. Each person in the chorus will also have speaking and singing lines, and will play multiple parts- for example, a chorus person could be both a mermaid and a jellyfish, or the ocean water, a sailor and a crab, or a seagull and a lost soul- so please remember that being listed as chorus does not mean that you didn't get an individual role- you probably have more than one, but you will not find out those assignments until our first rehearsal. It takes guts to come out and audition and you guys did a terrific job. I am so excited to start working on this show! :) Hope to see you all again soon

Mark your calendars, my peeps! Auditions are coming! I will be directing an all youth cast (you must be 18 or under) for Black Cat Theater. The show is Little Mermaid, Jr. and will be performed at SHHS this springtime. And it is going to be AMAZING! Auditions will be held on Thursday December 7th at 6 pm in the SHHS library, and on Monday December 11th at 6 pm in the SHHS auditorium. Rehearsals will begin in January. Spread the word-I am super excited, and I hope to see you there!!!😊
p.s. For those of you with busy calendars, FYI: rehearsals follow a Monday and Thursday evening 6 to 9 schedule

❤️ Dear students, friends and families:

To everything in life, there is a season.

Every performance brings the bittersweet moment of a final bow.

I have loved every moment of Stage Play: the students I have loved, the folks I have met in our community, crazy performances, classes full of laughter, and lively workshops. It has been an honor and a joy to share my love of performance with you. You have challenged and inspired me and given me memories for a lifetime. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Summer 2017 was the final chapter of the Stage Play program, at least for now. Life has a way of changing our direction… I am leaving this adventure with a heart full of gratitude and pride in the time we have shared together. As I close the door, I would like to share these final thoughts:

Always believe in yourself. You have so much beauty inside of you. Never be afraid to share it with the world.

Kindness and laughter are gifts that will carry you through the toughest challenges. Meet those challenges bravely and head-on, but never be afraid to ask someone for help if you need it. Likewise, support those around you. We need one another.

Art and creativity are essential. They add beauty and depth to life.

and never forget…“Now you know just who we are. Every ham here is a star!”

Children carry more potential than we ever give them credit for. They are gifts we are given to nurture and care for. Youth is brief. If you are among the lucky who have been able to add color and joy to those wondrous years, if you have touched the developing life of a young heart in a positive way, then you have been blessed indeed.

Students, parents, staff…thank you all so much! It has truly been a joy. :)
