"I Just have to say it..."
Yo Yo Yo One Hitters - Hopefully, you will have read this before tonight's match. This will shed a little light on the Pre-match topic of "Coach In Your Corner".

As I have been focusing more on the "Mental" part of my game, this topic came to mind... When? How? do I like to be coached and by Whom? Over the past month or so, I have noticed that I am more in a zone than I have ever been, during my matches. I have noticed that I am very confident in my shot selection and my ex*****on. Matt has called a couple of coaches, that I have denied.(Which I probably shouldn't have been able to do. Once a coach is called, I think you have to take it. I guess the other team wasn't paying attention.) Anyway, back to my point... I think that I am able to get zoned in and be confident, but when I'm interrupted by a called coach, I tend to lose my focus and make mistakes. (Something I need to work on) I think I am so confident that I would rather be the person calling for a coach, when I get stuck. Which I will do when I am doubting myself. I'm not saying Matt's coaching doesn't work for me, I'm just using his name as an example. I'm also not saying that I'm so good that I don't want support. I'm saying I need help making sure I "RE-FOCUS" after a coach is over and I start to shoot whatever decision was made. So, if you coach me, please just tell me to "re-focus" before you walk away.

Now it comes to you... as your invested teammate I want to be as helpful as I can be, I don't want to ruin your mojo! So think about this and provide feedback tonight...
1.) Do you want to be coached or not?
2.) When do you want to be coached?
3.) How do you want to be coached?
4.) Who do you want to be coached by?

I think we should have a "Coach In Your Corner"! Just like a prize fighter! A coach who gives you the best advice to keep you focused and be successful by way of Knockout!

You decide and we will support you! Peace!

Tip of the Week! - Positive Mental Focus & Pre-Shot Routine...
So I've been practicing endless hours on all my mechanical skills and have neglected my mental skills. I came across this information and have found it very useful. Your mental focus enhances all of your natural subconscious abilities. Without it you will fail.
Watch this, buy into it and give your subconscious a name!

In this week's session we look at how the brain operates like a computer - and how you can use the steps in your pre-shot routine to bypass your conscious mi...

This is going to be another post topic- ("I Just have to say it...") If anyone has anything they just want to say, let's put it out there. I will also continue with "Tip of the week", as well.
So with that said...
I just have to say it...
First of all, last night was a Dominating performance! Great Job! For me personally, I felt like I played one of my best matches. I played Tim and he used to beat me. Last night, I shut him out and got a "Rackless" match. That felt great! I was in a zone and played smart. What got me the win, you ask? I practice a lot and I mean "A Lot". Ask Nina, she'll tell you. Haha!
Now, what I really want to say is... We have a GREAT TEAM! I think we all try our hardest to help the team win every week. I think we all strive to get to City Wide and on to Vegas! I believe we can do that, if we all put in the individual effort to improve or maintain our skill. If you aren't going to put in your effort, YOU are wasting my time and other teammates time! Get your ass to the table and practice! This is not meant to be directed at any one person, but is meant to be directed at all of us. If you feel like I'm talking to you, you probably need to get your ass to the table and practice.
What is practice, you ask? It's doing drills that help work on your weaknesses and enhances your strenghts. It's being open to learning new technics and trying to perfect them. It's being humble and truthful with yourself about what you need to work on. Listening to you guys tell me what you see me doing wrong has helped me tremendously. Thanks for all your help in making me the "One Hitter", I am today! Peace!

Tip of the week! Try this practice drill out and see how well you do. I like this one for various reasons... 1.) The obvious reason of practicing rail shots and running the ball down the rail. 2.) Cue ball control to leave good position for the next shot. 3.) I like that you rotate ends of the table, which helps build your confidence from both angles and distances away from the pocket. Let us know, if you master a run out on this one. Good Luck One Hitters. See you at the VFW tomorrow night to show them just how much they do suck. Peace!

Tip of the week! "Cue ball control, back to the middle of the table".
We have all done it... trying to play position on a single object ball and came up short or too long only to scramble for some luck and hope to make a shot and get the next lay. Being in the middle of the table gives you a high percentage look at most if not all your shots. Look for a spot on the table where you can leave the cue ball, for multiple shots. Playing position between multiple object balls gives you options and should improve your run outs! Give this drill a try to see how many you can run out, while returning to the middle for position on your next shot. "Options"!
Good luck One Hitter's and see you at Stanley's. Peace!

Tip of the week! Great Drill to practice and understand why Matt uses the "Peace Sign" to see the 30 degree angle off the object ball. Let's keep up the GREAT work and continue to dominate this league! Peace!

Dr. Dave and Bob Jewett describe, illustrate, and demonstrate a "wagon wheel" for practicing cue ball control. This excerpt is from Disc II of "The Video Enc...
