Was a very exciting head to head evening of pinball!

After 7 head-to-head rounds we ended up with three players left, all with 2 strikes. Instead of giving one of the final three a bye, I decided to put them all against each other for a final showdown. These three players were ON FIRE and I thought it only fair that the final three would play one final game and the results of the game would determine first, second and third. And HOLY COW what a game.

Brooke was player 1 on Mousin’ Around and ended his ball three with 10.5M. Jack as player 2, started ball three with ~1.5M and did everything he could, but was ‘only’ able to put up 5.5M. Eric, starting ball three well behind his two competitors, locked in. Eric put on a hell of a show on ball three but one bad bounce and he ended with ~10M even. I can’t believe the losing score was over 5M points. These dudes were on fire and their top three finish was well deserved!

Vermont's largest pinball tournament -- The $2k Extra Ball Battle -- concluded it's 4th annual event last night. 51 players from Canada and all across New England gathered to play at least six hours of matchplay. Great moments were had, glory by a few, so let's do a recap:

In the main event, we watched JESS LOVELY quality 7th, the best new finish of all players in the event who have played before. BEAU BLANCHARD managed to secure the #1 seed overall in a field consisting of several top players!

We also had a 5-way tie for five spots, as both ERIC MARZ & CONNOR SHLATZ had to win back-to-back games to even get to that point. Both players squeaked into the playoffs via tie-break.

After several hours of intense competition, the final four consisted of co-op members CONNOR & DOUG BLACKMORE, New Hapshire's Ice Ice Arcade owner CHRIS BRUNETTE, and fellow Canadian and top world player CARTER CASSELMAN.

It was some great back and forth play by all of these guys, and after a 4-game match we had a tie for first place between Connor & Carter. A game of Meteor separated 1st from 2nd place, giving CONNOR the title of GRAND CHAMPION on the day! This is the first time in EBB history that the title stays in the state of Vermont! Congrats Connor!

In the EXTRA BALL event, 33 players played a progressive strike format for several rounds. The final two consisted of co-op's own JACOB STONE and Massachusetts BILL MACDONALD. The final match, on Pokemon, was won by Bill, who became the GRAND CHAMPION of The Extra Ball!

Thanks to all who made the time to drive and show to the event. It's greatly appreciated and not lost on me how much time and effort has to be given by all players who participate. Thank you to everyone who brought food or items to make the day easier to digest. We'll be back next year for EBB5!
