New class alert! 💛✨

When the World Feels Heavy is a five-class series exploring grief, joy, renewal, and what it means to stay connected in times of rapidly changing conditions.

Through conversation, creative expression, simple rituals, grounding practices, and embodiment, we’ll make space for what we’re carrying while staying connected to joy as a resilience practice.

Together, we’ll ask:
✨What does your grief teach you about love?
✨How does naming your grief change it?
✨What is within your sphere of influence, and what is not?
✨How can we wrap our arms around the joy and grief that populates our lives?

This class is for anyone feeling the weight of the world, wanting to foster tenderness, or curious about creativity, community and joy as liberatory resilience practices.

Mondays, Sept. 21–Oct. 19 | 6–7:30 PM

5 classes • 10 participants • Enrollment is now open!

This workshop invites you to mess with the page a little. Take someone else’s words, cover most of them up, and see what strange, funny, beautiful thing was hiding there all along.

No staring at a blank page. No worrying whether you’re “a writer.” Just following what catches your attention and letting curiosity do the rest.
You might surprise yourself with what you find.

Come play with words and discover a completely different way into poetry.
Led by Ally Berthiaume, award-winning author, memoir coach, developmental editor, and founder of The Write Place, Right Time.

Before play became something you had to make time for, it was how you met the world.

It taught you to explore, imagine, connect, and belong. Growing up doesn't erase that fluency, but it does get buried beneath schedules, responsibilities, and pressures. When we stop playing, we start forgetting how to play.

But (good news) it comes back quickly: in a shared laugh, an imperfect brushstroke, a silly dance move, or a moment when you stop performing and let yourself come alive.

Play is your most natural way back to your creativity, your connection with others and yourself.

Drop into the chat: What kind of play makes you feel most like you?

What if your morning didn’t have to be productive?

Pause & Play is a morning retreat built around something adults rarely give themselves enough of: space to settle and enjoy making something without worrying about the outcome.

We’ll begin with the quiet, flowing practice of neurographic art, then turn up the music for Paint Happy & Free, where movement and expressive painting take over and perfection gets left at the door.

Burlington, it’s time to put something ridiculous on your head. 🎩🌺

Hat Bop is back for its 3rd annual Hatwalk at Art Hop, and once again, we’re kicking off the SEABA Strut with a fashion show devoted entirely to hats.

Make it huge. Make it weird. Make something you never imagined wearing in public, then wear it down the runway anyway.

Hat Bop is less about fashion rules and more about what happens when people give themselves permission to go all in on an idea.

👒Want to walk? Sign up to create your own hat or headpiece and join us on the Hatwalk. We’ll also be hosting hat-making workshops before the event for anyone who wants a little inspiration, company, or access to an irresponsible amount of hot glue.

Saturday, September 12
South End Art Hop, Burlington
Participants arrive at 4:45 pm
Hatwalk begins at 5:30 pm

Grief and love are teachers. Let’s listen to them.
This fall, we’ll be gathering for 5 weeks to explore the ways they can help us reorient to change.

Together we’ll:
01 explore sorrow, awe, belonging, and the practices that help us stay connected to ourselves, each other, and the world around us.
02 engage with multiple ways of knowing, creative expression, ritual building, and system regulation while we explore the dual citizenship of grief and joy, the Five Gates of Grief, making and unmaking, building and breaking.
03 gather to deepen our ecologies of love, grief and creativity, build community, solidarity, and trust, all to devastatingly disrupt the systemic violence of separateness and apathy.
04 find, build, collect and forage for joy, make space for uncertainty, and sit with the things that are sometimes hard to name.
