Morris Performing Arts Center Celebrating 104 years of a historical gem in the heart of South Bend. It was the most modern theater in the country at that time.

The Morris Performing Arts Center, originally the Palace Theatre until the late 1950s, was built in 1922 as part of the Orpheum Theatre chain. The theater cost $1 million to build and was constructed on a $100,000 piece of property. In 2000, the Morris completed a renovation and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Morris has a seating capacity of 2,564 and is ranked by Poll

star magazine among the top 100 theaters worldwide. The League of Historic American Theatres (LHAT) awarded the Morris the prestigious national "Outstanding Historic Theatre Award" in 2015.

The Festival of Dance is one day away folks! We're excited to host the community at the Morris Performing Arts Center for this showcase. The show will feature performances from local dance companies UZIMA Drum and Dance, Southold Dance Theater, New Industry Dance, Sisters of the Nile & Company, Patchwork Dance Company, Michiana Dance Ensemble, LaRosa Spanish Dance Theater, IU South Bend Tap & Kickline, and The Conservatory of Dance & Aruinko Ballet. It will also feature special guest Willie Hinton.
