We have closed our doors as of August, 2024.

We value the contributions of every student, instructor, choreographer, board member, sponsor, music director, theater crew member, designer, musician, scenic artist, technical director, administrator, lighting designer, composer, photographer, costumer, graphic designer, patron, volunteer and family who contributed to the community we built together over all these years: 40 years of professional caliber performances and almost 50 years of pre-professional training.

In the words of our beloved colleague and icon of dance, Sara Wilbourne: Onward!

We wish the best for the future of the classical arts in Santa Cruz

An archival slide show is being produced - check back on our website (scbt.org) this fall for a link.

disposition.

🌟✨ Leslie Swaha was the Founder and Artistic Director of Santa Cruz-based Crash, Burn and Die Dance Company.  She studied dance for most of her life, starting at the San Francisco School of Ballet and continuing with various teachers and schools, including Erik Hawkins in New York and The Studio, School of Classical Ballet.  She received a B.A. in Theatre/Dance from UC Santa Cruz.  Under her co-Direction of Moving and Storage Performance Company, her choreography was performed throughout California as well as in New York and Japan.  As a patron of the arts, she inspired and influenced most everyone who came in contact with her.  She believed wholeheartedly in dance education and was an advocate of what youth could produce through the world of dance.
