🧅Early Access Hour 10:00 am – 11:00 am
*We advise ticket holders to arrive 15 minute early in order to enjoy the entire 60-minute Early Access hour inside the vendor hall*

Limited off-street parking is available behind the building and in the overflow lot at 75 Belmont Street. Residential street parking is available all day on Sundays!

🎉 Just 5 days until the Somerville Fermentation Festival lands on Sunday August 16! 🎉

In addition to our incredible lineup of vendors, speakers, artists, & musicians, we are excited to share our own collection of in-house booths and activities for the community to enjoy!

🛍️Merch & Raffle Table🛍️

Visit us at the front of the vendor hall to pick up your SomFermFest tees, totes, stickers, temporary tattoos, and hand-stamped lined notebooks! We’ll also have a small selection of fermentation books and equipment to get you started fermenting at home, and several fun (and funky) raffle prizes to bid on.

🥬 Kraut Mob 🥬

Join us on the patio outside the Armory and make your own jar of sauerkraut to take home ! We will provide everything you need: cabbage, jars, equipment, & a recipe to take home. Try your hand at fermentation and discover the fun of creating your very own ferment!

📚Culture Sharing & Book Swap 📚

Visit our Culture Sharing Table to drop off or pick up a starter culture (think kombucha, sourdough, yogurt, kefir, etc) and learn how to take care of it at home!

This year’s Culture Sharing includes a book swap! Bring your unused food & fermentation books and pick up something new.

Ever wondered what’s actually alive in your ferments? Stop by to see the microbial world up close: peer through the lens at the bacteria and yeasts that turn cabbage into kraut and tea into kombucha.

Get creative at our crafting table for kids (& adults), located right alongside our artist booths! We’ll have art supplies, crafting activities, and a selection of SFF stamps to play with!

The final two mobbin’ opportunities before the big event! 😳 Thanks to Davis Sq Farmers Market and Belmont Farmers’ Market (MA) for hosting us!

At our fermentation table (aka “Kraut Mob”), we teach market shoppers how to turn fresh produce into delicious and healthy fermented foods. We offer guidance and instruction along with all necessary equipment to begin the fermentation process, and provide recipe cards to take home. Donations are encouraged but not required to participate.

All proceeds support the upcoming Somerville Fermentation Festival on Sunday, August 16 at the Center for the Arts at the Armory ❤️

Bel Jaffe is a local artist originally from Cambridge, MA. They have been creating all their life and find inspiration in the touch and tactile of handmade things. Their crafts vary from ceramic, to fiber arts, to print making, and everything in between.

An afternoon of Farm Veggie fermentation Waltham Fields Community Farm with Somerville Fermentation Festival Founder, Flora Spivak! Participants will go home with a jar each along with the knowledge and skills to ferment at home!
