Today, we’re celebrating one of our incredible Y members, James, who is 98 years young!

A longtime member, James can be found at the Y most days getting in a workout. His dedication to staying active is an inspiration to all of us.

At the Y, we like to think of our seniors as active older adults—because age is just one part of the story. It’s never too late to move, connect, and keep doing the things you love.

Every child deserves a safe, welcoming place to learn, build friendships, and grow beyond the school day. 💙

Thanks to a generous $5,000 grant from the Rockland Trust Foundation, the Somerville YMCA will provide scholarships for its Out-of-School Time programs for youth ages 4–13, helping ensure that more children can participate in enriching activities and connect with caring adults, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances.

⚾❤️ A Day They'll Never Forget.

On June 30, Somerville YMCA members and their families enjoyed an unforgettable day at Fenway Park, cheering on the Boston Red Sox thanks to the Highland Street Foundation's Highland Hitters program.

For many of our families, this was more than a baseball game—it was a chance to spend quality time together, create lifelong memories, and simply enjoy being kids.

These moments are possible because of partners like the Highland Street Foundation and supporters like you who believe every child and family deserves opportunities to connect, grow, and thrive.
