Hello folks. I know I’ve dropped off the radar for several months while in the process of moving my shop, dealing with (and being dealt with by) life. I need to be in touch with many of you, and will be soon.

When I was a little kid bombing around the streets of Buffalo on my Huffy, there was an older kid down the block who would always shoot me with a garden hose on a hot summer day. It was probably 1970. He knew I loved it. I wonder if I squealed with delight like Dodger does here with me, 54 years later. I would ride back and forth in front of his house and neither of us tired of the game. That season ended and I was off to 2nd grade. He was off to Viet Nam. Gordon showed up again a couple years later, and returned to sit on the front porch steps. To me, life was unchanged. The long warm days were carefree. I’m sure I rode by him a thousand times in the following summers, but he never aimed that hose at me again. I hope you’re still out there my old friend, and that you found some measure of joy in the decades since. I can’t help but think of you and the joy you brought me, while watching my dog delight in chasing the cool water.
