I know I haven't been active much here lately but I'm still wrenching! Just got a Trek Madone in today for full re-cabling in fact.

I have been getting weird FB messages supposedly from FB about my page being reported and will soon be banned? I checked the link and it can not be related to FB so Im ignoring them.

Keep riding, keep smiling!

I wrench so you can ride. Sunday is my time to enjoy the fruits of all that labor. Getting caught in the rain mid ride is actually enjoyable....the deep cleaning afterwards, well it was supposed to be my day off! Chelmsford, MA Russell Mill - Billerica SF.

Its been a great long while but let it be known the mechanic still wrenches! They say steel is real but what about wood?

Over this past year I've been keeping an eye on the chain on my 1988 Pro Miyata. Just this week, with a little over 3,000 miles on the original (when the bike came to me) chain, the short end of my chain checker could slip in. Replaced the chain and am happy to report, no skipping. Lets see how long one cassette can last.

Had an older Bianchi touring bike with 8 speed Campagnolo gruppo in for chain & cassette. He also needed a new rear wheel. As an act of defiance I put on a Sram cassette and a Shimano chain.

It worked fine.
