Easter Eggs: Epcot’s Norway

This one is a deep dive! Before the attraction “Frozen Ever After” at Disney’s Epcot, there was Maelstrom. This attraction featured elements of Norwegian culture including some of its folklore. Maelstrom closed in 2014 to make way for the Frozen attraction but trolls and puffins have subtle nods throughout the ride, exit, and shop (and one not-so-subtle troll!). For the OG Epcot fans, these Easter eggs are for you (specifically you . Thank you for your investment in these attractions and enriching our stage production of Frozen!)

1. Troll purchased from the gift shop at the exit of this attraction at Disney’s Epcot

2. A puffin to represent the puffins used in Maelstrom that can still be found today in the Frozen Ever After attraction

3. This print is small and framed in the set of Oaken’s shop but is a presentation of the three-headed troll in Maelstrom.

What happens when you put all of Hopkins Elementary in one room and present Let It Go to them? Magic. Pure magic. Make sure your sound is on and be ready for tears!

Oh and maybe you noticed the walls? That’s a treat in itself and is highly impressive! Projection mapping for the entire show was designed by alumni Ethan and Anderson Ruble and MUST be experienced live! Don’t wait for a recording later because you will be missing out!
