The Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra has stood for excellence in music-making and education since 1995.

All regular Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra (MMYO) Saturday rehearsals take place at Calvary Lutheran Church located at 424 Via De La Valle, Solana Beach, CA 92075. Featuring top instructors with decades of experience, MMYO provides its students with solo, chamber, and orchestral performance opportunities all throughout San Diego. MMYO offers unparalleled access to the Mainly Mozart All-Star Orchest

ra, the largest annual gathering of concertmasters and principal players from major orchestras across the country including the New York Philharmonic, Cleveland Orchestra and Los Angeles Philharmonic. MMYO has a core commitment to inclusion, and serves as California’s only youth orchestra to actively recruit and integrate students with cognitive and physical differences into core ensembles. With 20+ years of teaching and performance experience, Mrs. Contreras holds two Master’s degrees—String Pedagogy and Violin Performance—from the prestigious Eastman School of Music. Having performed with professional orchestras, including the San Diego Symphony, she brings exceptional real-world experience to her teaching while creating a fun, supportive environment committed to musical excellence and developing strong fundamental violin techniques.
