In my YT Studio Session this week, I'm experimenting with a gelli plate technique that allows me to transfer an image of my own artwork onto a new surface...using that transfer as the starting point for an entirely new piece.
I love the unexpected possibilities this process creates...the original artwork doesn't disappear...instead it becomes part of something new.

Find a penny, pick it up all day long you’ll have good luck. Put the penny in your shoe, and good luck will come to you. "My Lucky Penny"... I grew up with these rhymes...and into a big penny devote! Even more now that they stopped making them!😞

Find a penny, pick it up, all day long, you’ll have good luck. Give it to a faithful friend; then, your luck will never end. "Penny Lane" part of a small trio in the Pennies From Heaven collection. I love everything about creating these small pieces...especially adding in my pennies, painting over then and buffing them out a bit to show up. Fun times in the studio!

I delivered this piece to the SDFair Fine Art Show before heading off to Scotland for a month. I was contacted while away, by someone who wanted to purchase it as a surprise for his wife! A nice surprise for both his wife and for me! I loved the look on her face when they stopped by the studio and she realized what was going on and it was for her...and "Enjoyed" headed off to its new home.

Another treat while I was away...my piece "Hey You Kids Go Outside And Play" was juried into the show, The Weight Of Air by artist and juror . Thank you Catherine, I'm so sorry I didn't get to see you while you were in town...I was in Scotland!

They Were All Yellow...this is a piece I did awhile back...a diptych actually, 60x48. I love all the mixed up media that went into this piece. It's part of my "Ageless" grouping on my website...that means it's marked down...hopefully to sell before I'm tempted to paint over it! That's actually my version of environmental...if a painting sites around too long...it gets a new layer.
It's looking for someone to save it from that!🤭

Flowers just make me happy, can you tell. Whether in the garden or in the studio...they bring me back to childhood, growing up with a grandmother gardener! Flowers, vegetables, fruit trees...and the room to grow them all.

I wish for that kind of space, especially in my studio where I can spread out and paint large. These two were part of my "Pennies From Heaven" series...36x48, framed and on my website looking for a new home. Take a look through my profile.
