I found a new way to clean off my brayer while making gelli papers...so much more fun to create little landscapes on my new favorite surface...wet strength tissue paper.

It's always wonderful to have someone love a piece of your art and want it on their wall....even more special when you get to personally deliver it to their home and see where it will hang. Just got this grungy girl finished. Let's Face It! 😄
In my YT Studio Sessions, I'm moving from flowers to faces and continuing my experiment with transferring an existing image onto paper with my gelli plate and then letting the painting take over.
The technique may be familiar, but changing the subject from flowers to faces changes everything. I'm curious to see what happens when I approach a face with the same mixed-media process I've been exploring in this series.
As always, I'm not entirely sure where the painting is going when I begin...which is part of what makes working this way so much fun.

So happy to be in the OMA/Covet show opening tonight in the covet Gallery in Oceanside for "In Flux". Oceanside Museum of Art / Artists Alliance always puts on wonderful show! I'll be missing opening night as I'm in a four day workshop in SD this weekend...though I hope you'll get out and see the show and support the arts and the gallery!

This is the 5th time I’ve had the privilege of being included in this prestigious exhibition, and I’m so grateful to be part of it again.
The show opens today, September 27, at the gallery in San Diego. I hope you’ll stop by and see the incredible work on display!

I'm honored and excited to have my piece be part of the Quiet Interruptions show at .contemporary...juror Michael Shemchuk. It's a really cool show and opens today from 4 to 7. I'll be there at 4 if you want to meet up...then I'm off to another show. It's a very busy art show Saturday!
