After fourteen years of summer fun, the Rising Star Theatre Camp will not be returning to the Ritz Theatre this year. We had made big plans for year fifteen and had discussed it with the Ritz Board of Directors, but were notified by the board that plans had changed, and we would not be allowed back this summer. We are heart broken that camp won't be happening, but we are so thankful to the people who have given us the opportunity to create a place that many of us (both campers and counselors) thought of as a second home: Kent Wright, who first let a 15 year old boy run a theatre camp in the Ritz. The other board presidents who continued letting us play: Bettsey Robertson, Chris Oliver and Glenn Burns. The parents who trusted us with their children. The list is endless. But most of all, we are thankful to the 35+ counselors and hundreds of campers who worked and played and sweat and laughed and created and made camp our absolute favorite two weeks of the year. Camp has helped define who we are as people and as artists, and our little summer theatre company has inspired many of our own to grow up to be professional performers, teachers, directors, designers, and even community theatre board members. Thank you for your support over the last fourteen years, and for always making it the "Best Time Ever!'
