FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30, 3-5PM in Snowmass Village, CO.

Dress up in your favorite costume, make a spooky craft, and enjoy an afternoon filled with hair-raising fun for all ages. We can't wait to share the afternoon with you and your family.

Say hello to the Fall 2026 Artists-in-Residence!

Over the next 10 weeks, this group of artists will make the Ranch their home as they explore new ideas, deepen their practices, and experiment across a range of disciplines. With dedicated time, studio space, and a community of artists around them, residents have the opportunity to take creative risks, develop new work, and see where their ideas lead.

Discover the vibrant, dimensional work of artist Serban Ionescu () at the Ranch.

Ionescu will speak at the Ranch on Tuesday, October 13, from 4:30–5:30PM MST. This free event is open to the public and available to attend on-campus or via livestream.

Serban Ionescu is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, painting, drawing, and architecture. Known for his vibrant use of color and monumental steel-and-aluminum works, his practice explores the relationship between line, plane, and volume. Ionescu has presented solo exhibitions at R & Company and Everyday Gallery, with his work featured in The New York Times and Architectural Digest. His work has also been published in two books by Apartamento.

This is a show best experienced in person. In “The Weight of Light,” Benjamin Timpson layers organic materials including butterfly wings, insect fragments, and snakeskin with resin and light into works that shift as you move around them…meditations on memory, fragility, metamorphosis, and transformation that feel at once delicate and deeply alive.

Join us for the gallery reception and meet the artist, Ben Timpson, this Thursday, October 8, from 5–6PM at Anderson Ranch Arts Center. Or visit the Patton-Malott Gallery Monday through Friday, 9AM–5PM. On view through October 30.

There’s something tender and luminous in Benjamin Timpson’s work: portraits built from butterfly wings, faces that hold both loss and light, and new experiments in glass and resin that bend transparency into something that pierces your soul.

His new exhibition, ‘The Weight of Light’ brings it all together: resilience and fragility, grief and quiet hope.

On view through Oct 30 in the Ranch’s Patton-Malott Gallery.

In the studio with Liz Ferrill, our Artistic Director of Painting, Drawing, and Printmaking, as she works on a new body of paintings. The work explores landscape, structure, and memory.

Liz builds her pieces from reference photos she takes around her home landscape in Colorado, converting those images into custom-cut stencils that let her layer precise textures and depth in flashe and gouache—from grass and terrain to graphic mountain forms, and architectural detail.

Seeing it come together in the studio is something else.
