I have something truly special planned for this summer—an opportunity to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself through nature and creativity.
If you’re longing for a peaceful mid-summer reset, I hope you’ll join me on Saturday, July 18 for Forest Impressions: A Mindful Oil Painting Retreat at the beautiful St. Placid Priory. Whether you come for the afternoon painting experience, begin your day with the optional Forest Therapy Walk, or treat yourself to an overnight stay at the Priory, this retreat is designed to nourish your creativity, quiet the mind, and leave you feeling renewed.
Your experience begins with an optional morning Forest Therapy Walk led by Dr. Kathy Holley, a certified Forest Therapy Guide who passionately educates and guides individuals through the holistic benefits of forest immersion. Dr. Holley holds a PhD in the study of intentional silence, embodiment, and well-being, and is the author of The Prayer of Silence, a book exploring Christian contemplative prayer, wellbeing, and embodiment. Through a series of gentle invitations, you’ll discover a deeper awareness of the natural world and yourself. To learn more about Dr. Holley and her work, visit Wellbeing in Nature NW.
After a break for lunch, join me for a relaxing three-hour guided oil painting retreat inspired by your time in the forest. Working step by step, we’ll paint a peaceful woodland scene while exploring the beauty of light, shadow, color, and atmosphere. The emphasis is on the experience of painting rather than perfection, making this retreat ideal for both beginners and experienced artists. Oil painting supplies can be provided for an additional $10 fee. Details and registration link in bio. Call the priory at 360-438-2595.
