Tennessee feels a little different today. 💔
We’ve lost a legend, but Dolly Parton was always so much more than her music. She was a songwriter, storyteller, philanthropist, businesswoman and proud Tennessean who never forgot where she came from, and spent a lifetime giving back
From the Smoky Mountains to Nashville and far beyond our state lines, Dolly showed the world a version of Tennessee we’re awfully proud to claim: talented, funny, generous, resilient and kind.

Thank you for the music, the laughter, the books placed in the hands of millions of children, and for making Tennessee shine a little brighter.

Rest well, Dolly. You made us proud. ❤️ 🦋

Walking Through History: America 250 Festival
August 1, 2026 • 10:00 AM CT to 3:00 PM CT

JOIN US TODAY at the Smyrna Public Library for an historic celebration of our country’s birthday and the rich history of Tennessee! We have transformed our storybook walk into a timeline highlighting pivotal moments in American, Tennessee, Rutherford Co & Smyrna’s history. We will have presentations, demonstrations, educational exhibits, info booths, Activities for all ages, historical reenactments, military vehicles, vendors, food trucks & live music!

This project is funded under an agreement with the State of Tennessee administered by the Tennessee Commission for the United States Semi-quincentennial.

Family Movie Night - "How to Train Your Dragon (2025)"

Bring your blanket, chairs, friends, and family to join us for an outdoor family movie night! We will be showing "How to Train Your Dragon (2025)". We will have yard games available before the movie starts and vendors will be on site with tasty food and treats.

– Plan healthy meals and make nutritious food choices.
– Modify recipes to reduce refined carbohydrates, sodium, and saturated fats.
– Reduce the amount of added sugar.
